Facebook Live: Hello Cupcake Card

Today I am sharing the card I created for this week's Facebook Live. It came together pretty quickly, because I used a sample from the demonstrator magazine as my inspiration. (Getting this magazine quarterly is just one of the benefits of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator! Click here to learn more.)

This cute little cupcake makes the best birthday cards, don't you think? The Hello Cupcake stamp set is free with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration. Shop and get yours today!

Stamps: Hello Cupcake (SAB)
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, Tuxedo Black
Paper: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo
Accessories & Tools: Rectangle Stitched Framelits, Big Shot, Glitter Enamel Dots, Linen Thread

Flowering Desert Desk Calendar

Flowering Desert is my favorite stamp set in the new Occasions Catalog! I am using it to slowly make desk calendars for my customers. I followed the template Erica Cerwin uses - a piece of 4 1/4 x 11" cardstock, folded in half. Then add a piece of 4 x 4" cardstock scored at 1/2", 2", and 3 1/2". That piece just adds stability and helps the calendar stand up better. On this calendar, I used our Thick Whisper White cardstock, which I think works really well! The calendar is from Taylored Expressions.

You might also notice the shiny paper I used on the scalloped oval. That is the Grapefruit Grove Foil Paper, one of the Level 1 Sale-A-Bration choices. It is seriously shiny! I also used the Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins. Although these are both Grapefruit Grove, I thought the shine gave them more of a pinkish hue, so I went with Flirty Flamingo for the ribbon and the sentiment. I love how Stampin' Up! stuff always matches!

Stamps: Flowering Desert
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green
Paper: Thick & Regular Whisper White, Grapefruit Grove Foil (SAB), Brights 6 x 6" DSP
Accessories & Tools: Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins, Layering Ovals Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Big Shot, All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack

I don't like snow, but I do like snowmen, and the Spirited Snowmen stamp set was a must have for me! If it's on your wish list, you only have a few hours left to get it!

Sorry for the poor quality of this picture. It's been chilly and cloudy this week, and I've been sick with a cold, so I didn't venture outside like I usually do to take my photos. I couldn't let the last day of the Holiday Catalog go by without sharing this cutie, though!

On my recent Facebook Live, I shared a card using one of the cute little Galvanized Buttons as a Christmas tree topper.

Curious about the stamps used on this card? They come from the set Snow is Glistening, which is a limited time product available to customers in November. That snowflake Christmas tree is so pretty!

You can see how I put this card together here. Thanks for watching!

#TGIFC180: Snowflake Showcase Sneak Peek

Oh my, do I have a treat for you today! I literally got these products on my doorstep this afternoon, and I couldn't wait to use them! TGIF Challenges Color Challenge this week was the perfect inspiration, along with a sample from Stampin' Up! that I CASE'd. Here is the fun color combo:

And here is my card. I copied it from a sample that Stampin' Up! posted, just changing the colors, switching out sequins for rhinestones, and using my thinlits instead of a sewing machine for the stitched line on the bottom.

The stamped images come from the Happiness Surrounds stamp set, and the die-cuts are from the Snowfall Thinlits Dies. These products, along with the Snow is Glistening stamp set, Snowflake Trinkets, and White Velvet Paper, will be available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST in November.

If you want to make sure you get them, you can purchase them as part of your starter kit this month. They are all truly beautiful!

Stamps: Happiness Surrounds
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody, Melon Mambo, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody, Whisper White
Accessories & Tools: Snowfall Thinlits, Stitched Labels Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Big Shot, Basic Black Baker's Twine, Rhinestones

#TGIFC177: Sketch Challenge

The card I'm sharing today is working double duty! I created it using the sketch challenge over at TGIF Challenges, and I'll be using it in my card class this month. Check out the sketch!

I was inspired by a card I saw by Tami Hewlett a few weeks ago, and a Lularoe dress in my closet - that's where my color combo came from, and I just love how it came together!

I used the Perennial Birthday stamp set, which has not seen much use in my craft room. I'm a little embarrassed to tell you that I bought it with the kit it was originally designed for, and that kit is sitting unfinished on my shelf. Oops! I have good intentions to put it together. Some day. The good news is that this stamp set is beautiful and can be used all by itself!

I hope you like my card, and if you are local to Gilbert, AZ, join me for my card class this month and you'll get to make it!

Stamps: Perennial Birthday
Ink: Berry Burst, Blueberry Bushel, Gray Granite
Paper: Gray Granite, Whisper White, Berry Burst, Blueberry Bushel, Festive Farmhouse DSP
Accessories & Tools: Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stitched Labels Framelits Dies, Big Shot

New Catalog & New Colors!

Happy new catalog day! I always love our mini catalogs, but when the big catalog goes live, it is even more exciting! Today I'm going to share my top ten with you, as well as a card using the brand new In Colors. If you received a catalog from me, don't forget that you can use your June coupon beginning today. Please use host code 4HQZP2MB when placing your order if you are spending less than $150. If you need a catalog and do not currently have a demonstrator, I would be happy to send you one, along with coupons to use June through December.

Onto my top ten! And then make sure to read to the end to see a card using the fun new In Colors.

1) My favorite thing about this catalog - all of the new (and returning!) colors! Stampin' Up! did a color revamp this year, and there are 16 new colors in the line up. The best way to get a taste of all of them is to order cardstock in the color family packs, or try out one of the new color assortment packs (inks, markers, or cardstock) found on p. 182 of the catalog.

2) Next on my list is the Love You to Pieces Bundle. This set is perfect for autism awareness, but great for so many other things too! It was on my order this afternoon.

3) It's so hard to choose from all of the beautiful ribbon, but I am really loving the 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon. It comes in three colors - Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape, and Poppy Parade - some of my favorites!

4) Anyone else thinking about Christmas? I've been making 15 Christmas cards every month this year, and I'm planning to do a Christmas Card Club beginning in August. The Stylish Christmas stamp set is what I plan to use for the first month of the club. It includes some of our new Distinktive stamps, which have a really cool texture!

5) There are a couple of new animal punch builders in this catalog. My favorite is the Little Elephant Bundle. I can't wait to use this set for new baby thank yous, and birth announcements if I'm ambitious!

6) I haven't been keeping up with my scrapbooking as I would like to, but I do love the Big Plans Memories & More Card Pack! I am hoping to do a card class with it later this year. The best part is that we now have note cards and envelopes that fit these card packs perfectly, making for super simple cards!

7) The Under the Mistletoe DSP is full of classic Christmas colors, which I love! You'll be seeing it in some of my Christmas cards, and maybe in that Stylish Christmas class.

8) The Notes of Kindness Card Kit has such pretty floral images, and in some of my favorite colors - Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron, and Soft Sea Foam! I love our all-inclusive kits because you don't need any extra supplies besides adhesive and scissors to put them together.

9) Nature's Twine is a set of 4 colors of twine. I use twine all the time on my cards, and these are such pretty colors. The rest of the suite is great too, and I think it is going to be awesome for fall!

10) Last, but not least, the Calligraphy Essentials Project Kit looks like so much fun! This one does have a separate stamp set and a few additional supplies needed, which would make it perfect for a private card class with your friends. Contact me if you are local and interested in hosting!

Bonus: There are SO many new colors available in the Stampin' Blends. These are my favorite coloring tool, and I can't wait to add the new colors to my collection. Unfortunately, they won't be available for a few more weeks, BUT the returning colors are available for ordering now!

Now, what you've been waiting for - today's card! I used the new In Colors and one of my favorite stamp sets with the coordinating framelits. What do you think?

These new colors are so vibrant and fun!

Stamps: Lift Me Up
Ink: Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover, Pineapple Punch
Paper: Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover, Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch, Whisper White, 2018-2020 In Color 6" x 6" DSP

#GDP140: Lovely Floral Watercolor Card

You are going to get two posts from me today, because I just couldn't miss out on the chance to participate in the Global Design Project challenge this week! They are choosing a winner this week to be a guest designer for 6 months, and I would love that opportunity!

The challenge was to CASE this card by Brian King.

I chose to use the floral element in the bottom left corner, the friend theme of the card, and the pink and green color scheme.

This is the first time I've used the Lovely Floral Dynamic Impressions Textured Embossing Folder. I water-colored with a few new colors, and a few returning colors - Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, and a little So Saffron for the center of the large flower. I used an Aquapainter with a light touch on my cardstock. Our Whisper White cardstock is not ideal for water-coloring because it pills easily, but you can use it if you are careful. I added a few of the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls as flower centers to finish the card.

Stop back later for another post featuring my top ten favorites from the new Annual Catalog, and make sure to check out the Global Design Project for more creative ideas!

Stamps: Love What You Do
Ink: Tuxedo Black, Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink, So Saffron
Paper: Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo
Accessories & Tools: Lovely Floral Dynamic Impressions Textured Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Aquapainter, Share What You Love Artisan Pearls

Frozen Birthday Invitations

Happy Friday! I am stopping by quickly today to share the invitations I made for my oldest's birthday party this weekend. We don't do parties every year for our kids. They each got one for their first birthday, and we are doing one their kindergarten year, but that's probably going to be it. Nothing elaborate either - we just invited the kids from her class to come over and swim, have cupcakes, and the part she is looking forward to the most - the presents!

Jenna loves Frozen, so that is the theme we are using for the party. I use that term loosely, as this party is very laid back! It would be fun to go all out with decorations and everything, but at 8 1/2 months pregnant, that is not happening.

The invitations use a lot of retiring products, and a few that are returning. Sorry for the big butterfly in the middle of the picture. I am working on my photography and editing skills slowly but surely, but blurring out parts of the image is not something I have conquered yet. So ignore that and look at the rest. :)

I have quite a bit of Tempting Turquoise and Soft Sky cardstock, and since both of those colors are retiring, I let Jenna pick which one she wanted to use. She went with Tempting Turquoise. The Time to Party stamp comes from the retiring Confetti Celebration stamp set. This is a great one for birthday cards, graduation cards, and of course party invitations! The die cut snowflake and scallop edge come from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits, and they are cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, also retiring. We finished the invitations off with Frozen stickers.

Stamps: Confetti Celebration
Ink: Tempting Turquoise
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper
Accessories & Tools: Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Big Shot, Rhinestones

Cool Treats for Teacher Appreciation

I have a quick post for you this afternoon. As you probably know, it was Teacher Appreciation Week this week. I would have loved to do something for Jenna's teacher every day, but that just wasn't going to happen this year. So we did a fun gift today, and her teacher loved it!

I thought the Cool Treats stamp set and Frozen Treats Framelits would go perfectly with an ice cream gift. The card is just flat, and we wrote on the back. Ice cream toppings fit nicely in the 6 x 17 Gusseted Cello Bags, and I tied it all up with the Lemon Lime Twist Mini Striped Ribbon. Most of these products are retiring, so make sure to snatch them up before they disappear! This gift would also be great as an end of the year teacher gift, so if you missed out on Teacher Appreciation, keep that in mind.

Stamps: Cool Treats
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist, Crumb Cake
Paper: Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White
Accessories & Tools: Frozen Treats Framelits, Big Shot, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Silver Mini Sequin Trim, Lemon Lime Twist Mini Striped Ribbon, 6 x 17 Gusseted Cello Bags

More Myths & Magic!

I have more Myths & Magic for you today, but this time I just used the washi tape. I love washi tape, but I find myself hoarding it and not using it! The Myths & Magic Specialty Washi Tape is so sparkly, it needed to be used on a special card. One of our nephews turned 10 this year, so I used the washi to create the numbers for the card.

This is a really easy technique that can be used with any die. Just line up your washi on cardstock, and then cut with the die. Easy peasy!

Stamps: Number of Years
Ink: Dapper Denim
Paper: Dapper Denim, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Paper

Magical Dragon Birthday Card

We had quite a few birthdays in our family last week, so I have a few birthday cards to share with you this week. The first was for one of my nephews. The Myths & Magic Suite is perfect for kids' cards!

The dragon and the knight are fussy cut from the Myths & Magic Specialty DSP. You could also stamp and color them if you wanted to use stamps from the stamp set instead. I made the background using the Brick Wall embossing folder. I simply inked up one side of the folder before adding the paper and running it through the Big Shot.

I have been trying to remember to stamp the inside of my cards too. The 'Happy Birthday' comes from the Number of Years stamp set, and the little stars are from Magical Day.

And have you tried the Tutti Frutti Sequins yet? They already have the adhesive on the back, so they are super easy to use, and come in five fun colors!

Stamps: Magical Day, Number of Years
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Basic Gray
Paper: Basic Gray, Whisper White, Myths & Magic Specialty DSP, Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper
Accessories & Tools: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Brick Wall Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Tutti-Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins, Silver Metallic Thread

You're Inspiring Easter Card

I have a quick post for you today - had to get this Easter card in before Easter! I'll keep it short and sweet because we had relatives in town yesterday, and we stayed up chatting until almost midnight. I definitely am not used to staying up that late anymore, and I'm dragging today!

Wishing you a blessed Easter! He is risen; He is risen indeed!

Sweet Soiree Baby Shower Card

I was invited to a friend's baby shower this past weekend, and although the invitation said to bring a book instead of a card, I couldn't go without making one, could I? The Sweet Soiree Specialty paper steals the show, but my favorite part of this card is the ribbon. Take a look!

Did you know that you can color our ribbon with Stampin' Blends? Unfortunately, the Blends have been so popular that ordering has been turned off until probably late May. But they will return! I used my Dark Pink Pirouette marker to color the Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon. It's beautiful, don't you think?

Stamps: Happy Wishes (SAB)
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Whisper White, Powder Pink, Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP
Accessories & Tools: Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon, Dark Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends Marker, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Circles Framelits, Big Shot, Metallic Foil Doilies, Glitter Enamel Dots
