15% Off Stamps Now Through Friday!!!

Stampin' Up! is running an AWESOME sale this week!!! All stamps are 15% off now through Friday!!! The only exclusions are hostess stamps and rotary stamps. This is a great time to get a stamp set or two (or more!) that has been on your wish list. In my 3 years with Stampin' Up!, I haven't seen a sale like this on ALL the stamp sets, and it's not going to last long. If you place an order under $150, I'd love it if you'd use the hostess code ZEFR2RYE. I'll send you a little gift to thank you for your order (no minimums!) If your order is over $150, please do not use the hostess code - you'll earn your own hostess benefits (and I'll still send you a gift)!

A Very Merry Christmas

I have the last of my World Card-Making Day cards to share with you today. Surprise! It's another Christmas card!

I've been wanting to try this technique for awhile. Well, it's so simple that maybe it can't even be called a technique. I've seen Erica Cerwin do this on several projects, and it looks so cute! Plus, you can never go wrong with polka dots! (And, if you've never checked out Erica's blog, you should! It's one of my favorite stamping blogs to follow!)

Can you figure out what I did by looking at the picture? It's really simple. All you need is one of our decorative masks and your Stampin' Write Markers. I think the polka dots might look the best, but if you try a different mask, I'd love to see it! (The little stars and hearts would probably look pretty cute, now that I think about it!) In this case, I chose colors similar to what you'd find in the Merry Moments DSP Stack. Then I taped my mask down over the cardstock (you can use washi tape), traced around the circles with my markers and scribble-colored to fill them in. It definitely doesn't need to be perfect. That's part of the charm!

Stamps: Reason for the Season
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Old Olive, Real Red, Soft Suede
Paper: Soft Suede, Whisper White, Garden Green
Accessories & Tools: 2" Circle Punch, Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks

I've just started a new Facebook group - Naptime is Stamptime by Rachel Traudt. I'll be sharing updates, blog posts, class information, and specials there more so than my business page. Click here to join the group!

There is only one more day to order the Nutty Notecards Class to Go. Email me today to reserve yours!

Peace on Earth Christmas Card

Today's card is another one from my World Card-Making Day event. My goal is to design next year's Christmas card this year, and I think this one might be it! It's much simpler than the ones I've designed the past few years, and that's a good thing because I have to make about 160 of them! Take a look, and let me know what you think.

Stamps: Holly Jolly Greetings
Ink: Soft Sky, Real Red
Paper: Whisper White, Red Foil Sheets, Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum
Accessories & Tools: Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies, Big Shot, White 3/8" Glitter Ribbon

Saturday was World Card-Making Day, and I held a special Facebook event where I shared cards that I've been working on recently. I'll be sharing those cards here this week and next week, but if you want a sneak peek, you can see them all here.

Today's card was made using the Acorny Thank You stamp set. It is a great fall/Thanksgiving set, and just happens to be the stamp set featured in this month's Nutty Notecards Class to Go! This card was CASEd from a card I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I love the color combination!

If you like what you see, place an order TODAY! Any orders of just $20 using hostess code M23ZCADE will receive the 4 cards I shared on World Card-Making Day, plus envelopes!

Stamps: Acorny Thank You
Ink: Night of Navy, Delightful Dijon, So Saffron
Paper: So Saffron, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Cherry on Top DSP Stack

Stamping 101: Tips for Using the Festive Flower Builder Punch

The Festive Flower Builder Punch doesn't look too impressive when you first see it. But what it can create is just beautiful! When you order the punch, here is what you'll get:

This punch can also be bundled with the Reason for the Season stamp set, getting you a 15% discount!

The punch creates a beautiful poinsettia flower, perfect for topping Christmas gifts, adding to holiday banners, or creating a really special 3-D card. Today I'm going to share a few tips I learned while trying the punch out.

First of all, I highly recommend viewing the video that Stampin' Up! has created about this punch. In the video, you are shown how to put the poinsettia together, as well as some alternate color schemes to create flowers for other seasons. Take a look:

If you don't have time to watch the video, here is a picture showing the pieces you will need to punch out to create a basic poinsettia. You will need 8 of the large petal, 4 of the smaller petal, and 2 of the double piece.

Depending on how you want to finish the middle, you may also need a few pieces of the x-shaped piece. I used pearls to finish the middle of the first flower that I made.

Isn't the poinsettia just stunning with the Red Glimmer Paper? I love the sparkle! Of course, regular cardstock will work just fine too. For the second one, I used Cherry Cobbler cardstock, with Daffodil Delight cardstock for the middle.

When you are putting the poinsettia together, the video suggests using the 3/4" or 1" circle punch to punch out a base that you can attach the petals to. I don't have those sizes of circle punches yet, so I just cut out a very imperfect circle, and it worked very well. You don't see it in the finished product, so it's not a necessity to have the extra punch.

My final tip when using the Festive Flower Builder Punch is to plan ahead! I used Tombow Multipurpose Glue to attach everything together, as suggested in the video. I do think this is probably a good choice, but it takes a very long time for everything to dry together. So make sure that you leave yourself plenty of time to let the poinsettia dry before adding it to the rest of your project. If you have tried a different adhesive that worked better, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

The coordinating stamp set, Reason for the Season, can also be used to stamp on the petals. I haven't tried this yet, but I've found a gorgeous example to share with you today from Dawn Tidd. I love looking at her blog for all of her creative ideas, and the poinsettia she created is just beautiful!

Want to know where my poinsettias ended up? I'll be posting those projects in the near future. Thanks for stopping by today!
