#GDP316: CASEing with Eden's Garden

Hello! I found some time to play along with the Global Design Project challenge this week. The challenge was to CASE a card by Stesha Bloodhart, which was really fun for me because I always love her cards! Here is the inspiration card:

And here is what I made:

I used the Eden's Garden Bundle, along with the Garden Gems (only available while supplies last!). I decided to go away from the color scheme in the Ever Eden Designer Series Paper, which has lots of greens and gold, and came up with my own color combination - Pool Party, Fresh Freesia, Basic White, Sahara Sand, and Soft Suede. The Bark Embossing Folder adds some texture in the background. And don't you think those gems take on some Pool Party tones?

You might not recognize the gems in the center of the flower. I had some left over from one of our kits - the Notes of Cheer Card Kit - and I thought they fit perfectly with the Fresh Freesia flower. You could also use the In Color Jewels.

Here is a full list of supplies used on this card:
Stamps: Eden's Garden
Ink: Fresh Freesia
Paper: Pool Party, Basic White, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede
Embellishments: Linen Thread, Garden Gems, Notes of Cheer Card Kit (purplish gems)
Tools: Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Eden Dies, Layering Circle Dies, Bark Embossing Folder, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal+, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

#GDP309: A Black & White Christmas

This week's color challenge at Global Design Project is right up my ally - black and white with a pop of color!

My first thought was to add a little bit of pink - I love that color combination! But laying in bed the other night, the idea for this card came to me, and I switched gears. When does your inspiration happen? I often think of my best ideas while laying in bed at night before I go to sleep. (Or, let's be honest, when I'm laying awake in the middle of the night, trying to distract myself from worrying about something.) Anyways... here is my card:

This card turned out exactly how I wanted it to! That Real Red Ruffled Ribbon is SO pretty - in fact, after I used it, several of my kids asked for a piece!

Here is a full list of the products I used:
Stamps: Evergreen Elegance
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Thick Basic White, Basic White, Basic Black, Pattern Party Host DSP
Embellishments: Real Red Ruffled Ribbon, Cute Stars Adhesive Backed Sequins
Tools: Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal+, Stampin' Dimensionals

Want a free tutorial for this card? I send a free card tutorial to my email subscribers every Monday, and this one is coming up next week! Join my email list here.

Delicate Dahlias: Simple Stamping

Welcome back! Today I have a set of cards to share with you using the Delicate Dahlias stamp set. This is a stamp set that you can earn for free with a $100 order during Sale-a-bration. It's a really pretty set, with several "distinktive" stamps, a variety of sentiments, and beautiful floral images!

These cards came about because of a challenge my team leader was running. For this particular challenge we had to use certain colors - Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, and Flirty Flamingo. I did not have a lot of time to participate when she offered this challenge, but I am a little bit (sometimes a lot) competitive. It just so happened that the same week, in our weekly email from Stampin' Up!, the project they shared with us had very similar colors.

I decided to CASE the cards in the email and use the challenge colors, and it worked out perfectly! All three of these cards are pretty simple stamping, but they pack a punch with the beautiful images in this stamp set. Here's a look at each one individually.

Don't forget - this stamp set is free with a $100 purchase. You can shop here.
And here is a full list of supplies I used - but of course you can CASE these cards with any color combination you'd like!

Stamps: Delicate Dahlias
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo
Paper: Thick Basic White, Basic White, Daffodil Delight
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal+, Stampin' Dimensionals

Above & Beyond

Today's card was one I created for a swap. I used the Summer Shadows Dies, which are free with a $100 purchase during Sale-a-bration. I also used the coordinating stamp set, Shaded Summer.

This die set has dies that cut out images in the stamp set, as well as detailed flowers and leaves. The detailed pieces also have solid images that can be layered underneath, which is how I used them for this card. You can even use different colors for a variety of looks!

Here is a full list of supplies used on this card:
Stamps: Shaded Summer
Ink: Gray Granite
Paper: Gray Granite, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Basic White
Embellishments: Rhinestones, Blushing Bride Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools: Summer Shadows Dies, Tasteful Labels Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal+, Stampin' Dimensionals, Adhesive Sheets

What Does a Pineapple Have to Do with Anything?

Today is the first day of school here, and you all know I love to share my teacher gifts! A few weeks ago, I saw a really cute project by demonstrator Marisa Alvarez (Kitchen Table Stamper), and I thought it was just perfect for my first day of school teacher gifts. She had a set of tropical pencils, and had created a little holder with a pineapple tag for them. I did a little bit of looking, but couldn't find any pencils that were similar. I bought some Papermate Flair Pens instead - what teacher doesn't love to write with fun pens?!

You can find her measurements here. Even though my pens are probably a bit wider than pencils, and I had two instead of four, they still fit in the holder pretty well! I changed just a few things from the original design:
  • I used retired True Love Designer Series Paper for my wrap around the holder.
  • I used the Sweet Strawberry stamp set for my sentiment.
As I was finishing putting these together last night, I started to think perhaps it was a little strange to have the pineapple tag when the pens have nothing to do with pineapples. Neither does the sentiment. But. The pineapple was really cute. So I just went with it. And I love how they turned out!

Here is a full list of the supplies I used, and remember, you can follow Marisa's tutorial here.
Stamps: Sweet Strawberry
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Crushed Curry, So Saffron, Garden Green, Flirty Flamingo, Basic White, True Love DSP (retired), Stampin' Blends Markers: Dark So Saffron
Embellishments: Metallic Pearls, White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
Tools: In the Tropics Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesives: Tear & Tape, Stampin' Seal+, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

You Warm My Heart

I have a beautiful card to share with you today, featuring some of my favorite new products!

This card came about when I was designing for my Christmas Card Club and making swap cards. It didn't make the cut for either because I decided that the sentiment wasn't particularly a Christmas sentiment, and I wasn't going to fussy cut a tree and die cut twice for 21 swap cards! Well, maybe I would have if I had designed my swap card sooner than one day before I needed to send them...

Anyways, here are a few of my favorite things about this card:
  • The Polished Pink heart is cut with the Give it a Whirl Dies. So many fun dies in this set!
  • The little tree and diagonal silver stripe paper are from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Paper pack. All of the patterns in this pack are SO pretty!
  • The ribbon is a white version of our Glittered Organdy Ribbon. Beautiful in white, but it can be colored too!
  • And finally, the Be Dazzling Paper from Sale-a-bration in the background. I am almost through a whole package already - it's super sparkly and amazing!

Here is a full list of products used on this card:
Stamps: Encircled in Warmth
Ink: Polished Pink
Paper: Thick Basic White, Basic White, Polished Pink, Whimsy & Wonder DSP, Be Dazzling Paper
Embellishments: White Glittered Organdy Ribbon, Subtle Shimmer Sequins
Tools: Give it a Whirl Dies, Hippo & Friends Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal+, Stampin' Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue

If you love this card, you might be interested in this month's Christmas Card Club kit, which features the same products.

#GDP300: To the Coolest Friend Ever

Today's card is a special treat. I thought I could resist sharing new stuff with you for at least for another week, but I have no willpower...

I am playing along with the challenge at Global Design Project this week, and I also created this card for a color challenge in the training group I'm a part of. Two birds with one stone is my motto most days. Here is the challenge from GDP:

And the colors I used were Fresh Freesia, Gray Granite, and Soft Sea Foam (with a little Pumpkin Pie on the side).

Is this not the cutest little penguin you have ever seen?! This stamp set and builder punch will be coming in the brand new July-December Mini Catalog, and that pretty paper on the sides is a coordinating paper found in the Sale-a-bration brochure. The paper is to DIE for! The sequins are also a new item.

You can get your hands on these new products starting on August 3, but if you'd like them sooner, you can add them to a starter kit today. (Psst... demonstrators are also getting an extra month of Sale-a-bration right now, so bonus!)

Here is a full list of products used on this card (and remember - many of these are not yet available to customers).
Stamps: Penguin Place
Ink: Fresh Freesia, Gray Granite, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Sea Foam
Paper: Thick Basic White, Basic White, Fresh Freesia, Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper
Embellishments: Subtle Shimmer Sequins
Tools: Blending Brushes, Penguin Builder Punch, Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal+, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Multipurpose Liquid Glue

You Are Amazing: In Color Cards

Welcome back! I have a collection of cards to share with you today featuring the Color & Contour Bundle. I'm sure by now you have seen the new 2021-2023 In Colors. Stampin' Up! always does a good job of picking on trend colors to introduce each year, and this year's are no exception. I paired the colors with this amazing bundle - take a look!

The paper you see peeking out on the edge of these cards comes from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper pack (on sale this month!). This paper coordinates with the Pansy Patch Bundle, and includes all of the new in colors.

I copied my card design in all five of the new colors. Which one do you like the best?

Evening Evergreen

Fresh Freesia

Pale Papaya

Polished Pink

Soft Succulent

The Color & Contour Bundle is really fun to create with! I love the dies and have used them a lot already, but the stamps are great too. The flower stamp that I used on these cards is fun and bold, and it's probably my favorite stamp in the set.

If you'd like to recreate these cards, here is a full list of the products I used:
Stamps: Color & Contour
Ink: Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, Soft Succulent
Paper: Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, Soft Succulent, Basic White, Pansy Petals DSP
Embellishments: 2021-2023 In Color Jewels, Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon, Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon, Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon, Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon, Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon
