Looking Up Card Kit Alternative

Earlier this week, my husband and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. I did not think to make a card ahead of time (oops!), so I got out the Looking Up Card Kit to see what I could come up with. Luckily, there was a sentiment that worked, and the palm trees that reminded me of our honeymoon to Hawaii.

The background paper comes from the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP. This paper did not appeal to me at first, but it is quickly becoming a favorite! If you miss the Wood Textures paper that retired, this paper is for you! There is a wood pattern, plus this burlap one - both perfect neutrals for your cards, and both wonderful for masculine cards! And then of course you've got some beautiful floral patterns too.

If you are looking for a quick and easy card, our kits are a great place to start! This one is all-inclusive, meaning you don't need any other supplies, unless you want to make alternatives like this one. The extras I used are listed below.

Stamps: Looking Up
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Early Espresso
Paper: Early Espresso, Bermuda Bay, Pressed Petals DSP, Whisper White
Embellishments: Glitter Enamel Dots

Looking Up Card Kit

This week I have been featuring the Looking Up Card Kit on my Facebook page. These cards are SUPER easy to put together! I thought I would give you a closer look at them today.

Here are a few tips for putting them together:

Stamp all of your sentiments first. (I made mostly thank yous and happy birthdays, because those are the types of cards I need most.)

Attach the copper stickers, and add the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals. That's it! You can also add the extra punch out pieces for more dimension, but I'm saving mine for extra cards. (Stay tuned for one of those on Friday!)

And how cute are the matching envelopes?! This kit is so much fun to put together, and where else can you get 15 cards for $27? Add one to your order today!

Hi, Friend!

On Saturday, I'll be holding my new catalog kick off party as well as a big BOGO sale with my retired products. If you're coming, you may want to skip this post for now. The card I'm sharing today is the one we'll be making Saturday!

I recently participated in a card swap, and I CASEd this card from one I received back with the swaps. The swap card was designed by Kristina Rees. Here's the one she sent - I love it!

I don't have Free as a Bird yet, so I decided to substitute what I do have - Above the Clouds.

I watercolored with Seaside Spray on Shimmery White Cardstock, and of course I had to use the Woven Threads Sequins and White Baker's Twine again. (You'll be seeing them in my next post too...) I'm starting to think I can't create a card without those sequins anymore. They're just that good!

Stamps: Above the Clouds
Ink: Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose, Soft Suede, Pretty Peacock
Paper: Whisper White, Shimmery White, 2019-2021 In Color DSP Stack
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins, White Baker's Twine
Tools: Aquapainter, Hot Air Balloon Punch, Stitched Shapes Dies
Adhesives: SNAIL, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Modern Heart Color Challenge

If you follow me on Facebook, you saw a post last week about a color challenge my upline issued. I don't always have time to participate in her challenges, but she gives away a prize to a random person who participates, and this time the prize was a pack of Magnolia Lane Memories & More cards. Free stuff motivates me, especially pretty things like these cards, which happen to be on backorder right now. So... I had to participate! This was the color challenge:

And here is the card I created:

The Modern Heart stamp set is one of my favorites from the new catalog. And I have been using the Woven Thread Sequins and White Baker's Twine on ALL my projects recently! I love how this card turned out, and I hope you do, too!

Stamps: Modern Heart
Ink: Merry Merlot, Rococo Rose
Paper: Rococo Rose, Whisper White, Soft Suede, 2019-2021 6 x 6" DSP,
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins, White Baker's Twine, Rococo Rose 1/2" Gathered Ribbon
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Father's Day Card with A Good Man

When I first looked through the new catalog, one of the stamp sets that caught my eye right away was A Good Man. The sentiments and images were just so fitting for some of the men in my life! So of course I had to put it on my first order, and use it right away!

I'm showing you two versions of this card today. The first is one I did for a card swap. I had to make 21 of this card, so I decided to skip coloring the image. Instead, I stamped it in Night of Navy, and I think it still looks great!

For the second card, I stamped the image in Memento Black and colored with Stampin' Blends. I colored it to resemble my husband and oldest daughter. This is the one I will give to my husband for Father's Day.

Colored or not, the images and sentiments in this stamp set are perfect for all of your masculine cards. Add this stamp set to your next order - it will be a good one to have in your collection!

Stamps: A Good Man
Ink: Night of Navy, Memento Black, Stampin' Blends - Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Light and Dark Night of Navy, Light and Dark Balmy Blue, Light Flirty Flamingo, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Soft Suede, Ivory
Paper: Night of Navy, Sahara Sand, Balmy Blue, Whisper White, Come Sail Away DSP
Embellishments: Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker's Twine
Tools: Subtle Embossing Folder, Rectangle Stitched Dies, Big Shot
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals

Let Your Dreams Soar!

One thing I've been doing a lot recently is CASEing the catalog. (CASEing basically means to copy. Copy and selectively edit is my favorite definition.) When you are looking for inspiration, or don't know where to begin with a stamp set, the catalog is a great place to go! This card features the Above the Clouds Bundle and several of the new In Colors.

Have you picked a favorite out of the new catalog yet? This bundle is definitely one of mine!

Stamps: Above the Clouds
Ink: Seaside Spray, Highland Heather, Terracotta Tile, Crumb Cake, Gorgeous Grape
Paper: Whisper White
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins, White Baker's Twine
Tools: Hot Air Balloon Punch
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glue Dots

New Catalog Top 10

I love, love, LOVE new catalogs, and today I am sharing my top ten favorites. These are definitely not all the things on my wish list - if I listed those we would be here awhile! But I picked out a few things that will be on my first few orders.

#1: Woven Threads Sequins

These come in the new In Colors, and they are SO pretty! This might be the first time - ever - that I use up an entire container of sequins. The Purple Posy sequins in my container are already running low!

#2: Over the Moon stamp set

I love all of the animal stamp sets, but the puns in this one are so cute, and who can resist those cows?!

#3: Pressed Petals Journal

Anyone else love notebooks? I do! I'm intrigued to see what this one is like. What I do know - the cover is gorgeous!

#4: Modern Heart stamp set

This one is a favorite because I love the sentiments, and the fonts!

#5: Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip

I am so excited for this addition to the Take Your Pick Tool!

#6: Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper

What's not to love? Beautiful, shiny foil, in some of my favorite colors!

#7: Looking Up Card Kit

There's hot air balloons! And card kits are always a favorite because they are cute and go together quickly.

#8: Above the Clouds Bundle

I can't resist hot air balloons! (See #7.) I've been using this set for some swaps, and I really love it!

#9:  Stampin' Blends in new colors

These really are the best markers I've ever used, and the new colors will be added to my collection soon!

#10: Dinoroar Suite Bundle

Did you know that you can now buy all of the products in a suite with one ordering code?! Woohoo! This one is on the top of my list!

What are your favorites? Comment and let me know! Would you like to order anything from the new catalog? All orders earn you tickets for my Summer Extravaganza.

And the first 6 orders of more than $50 that I receive today will also get a set of 4 cards from my last card class. You can shop here.
