Patriotic Work of Art

Work of Art is such a versatile stamp set! I've seen different ideas floating around Pinterest using stamps from this set to make a flag, and this week was the perfect week to try it myself. I needed a birthday card for someone whose birthday is on July 3, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Thank you to whoever came up with this idea - it's creative and cute!

My flag was not quite centered the way I wanted it, but that's what I get for not using my Stamp-a-ma-jig! The stars come from the Merry Minis Punch Pack, which is still available on the Holiday Carryover list.

On the inside, I went with a little Happy Birthday banner from Itty Bitty Banners.

A Few of My Favorite Things

I am hosting a new catalog open house in a few weeks, so I am busy making some samples using new products from the catalog. The card I made today features one of my favorite new products - decorative masks! There are so many different ways to use them, and the best part is that they only cost $2.95 for two!

I chose to use the polka dot mask today, because I love polka dots. I went with a black and white color scheme (another favorite of mine), and my favorite greeting from Lots of Thanks.

 

For this card, I inked up my cardstock with Versamark over the mask, then heat embossed in black. I wish my embossing had turned out a little cleaner, but I'll just say I was going for that 'distressed' look that is in style right now! Here is a closer look at the polka dots:

Everyday Occasions to the Rescue Again!

Have I mentioned that I love kits? Oh, I have. Just a few times! :-) My husband has been interviewing for a new job, and I like to give him a little encouraging note before his interviews. He has another one on Monday, and I decided to put together a quick card using bits and pieces from the Everyday Occasions kit. Excuse my handwriting, but I couldn't find a stamp that I liked for the greeting, so I wrote my own. I think it fits with the background of the handwriting paper.

 

All items are from the Everyday Occasions kit except for the Pool Party Baker's Twine (retired) and the Basic Gray marker that I used to write the greeting.

Bermuda Bay Thank You

One of the stamps I just had to have when I looked through the new catalog was Watercolor Thank You. I love single stamps for their low prices too! This card follows the pattern for most of my cards lately - quick and easy. I used Work of Art again also, stamping off to create a lighter-colored background. I whipped up 10 of these cards quickly this morning, and I think they turned out great! Easy to repeat in any color!

Old & New Happy Birthday
