Tulip Congratulations

A few days ago, I saw some BEAUTIFUL photos of red tulips with the In Good Taste paper as the backdrop. It was so pretty, and inspired today's card!

For the tulips, I inked my stamps in Poppy Parade ink, and then used a sponge dauber to add a little bit of Melon Mambo on the bottom and sides. It's subtle here, but this is a fun trick to add multiple colors to your stamped image! The sentiment is once again from the stamp set 'A Grand Kid.' (Have I convinced you yet that you need this sentiment stamp set in your life?!)

The card is finished off with a few Frosted Epoxy Droplets, which have been colored with the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends Marker. Here is a full list of supplies:

Stamps: A Grand Kid, Timeless Tulips
Ink: Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo, Old Olive; Stampin' Blends: Dark Poppy Parade
Paper: Early Espresso, Whisper White, In Good Taste DSP
Embellishments: Braided Linen Trim, Frosted Epoxy Droplets
Tools: Tulip Builder Punch, Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Multipurpose Liquid Glue

In Color Club - July

I have some fun cards to share with you today! These were the cards I sent to my In Color Club members this month. They feature the stamp set 'A Grand Kid', which I think is a great sentiment stamp set, even if you don't have kids or grandkids.

Check out the cards, and leave me a comment with your favorite color. I would love to know!
Bumblebee

Cinnamon Cider

Just Jade

Magenta Madness

Misty Moonlight

Magenta Madness was my favorite color at the beginning - in fact, I also made quite a few of the cards in that color for a card swap! But Misty Moonlight is beginning to take over as a new favorite lately. Come fall, I'm sure that will change again to Bumblebee or Cinnamon Cider. They're all great!

Here's a list of all the products I used on these cards:
Stamps: A Grand Kid
Paper: Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Misty Moonlight, Magenta Madness, Sahara Sand, Whisper White, 2020-2022 In Color DSP
Embellishments: Rhinestones, 2020-2022 In Color Ribbon
Tools: Be Mine Stitched Dies, Tasteful Labels Dies, Pinewood Planks EF
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

#GDP250: Watercolor Whale

I am featuring the Whale Done Bundle this week over on my Facebook page, and recently I've seen a few purple whales pop up in our demonstrator group. I love purple, so I decided to try it out on my own card. I used the sketch challenge at Global Design Project as my other inspiration.

A couple of details - I watercolored with Highland Heather ink on Watercolor Paper, and then punched the whale out after it dried. Although I really hate using liquid glue, it's what I would recommend for piecing together the whale. Those pieces are just too little for glue dots! The tiny heart in 'LOVE' is a stamp in the Whale Done stamp set. I fussy cut it and added it on top of the 'O'.

I kind of love Misty Moonlight with the soft purples. Magenta Madness was my favorite new color at the beginning, but I think Misty Moonlight might be taking its place. Here is the color combination I used.

Stamps: Whale Done
Ink: Highland Heather
Paper: Misty Moonlight, Purple Posy, Whisper White, Balmy Blue, Basic Black, Vellum, Watercolor Paper
Embellishments: Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
Tools: Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Seabed Embossing Folder, 2 1/4" Circle Punch, Whale Builder Punch, Water Painters
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Multipurpose Liquid Glue

You Got This

Today's card is quick and easy. I used some fun, bright colors - Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay - for this card.

A strip of Rainbow Glimmer Paper adds some sparkle, and that Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon is one of my favorites! You could even color it with Stampin' Blends Markers for a different look if you wanted to. The card is finished off with a sprinkling of Artistry Blooms Sequins. The best part about these - they come with adhesive already on them!

Stamps: Ridiculously Awesome
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Rainbow Glimmer Paper, Shimmery White
Embellishments: Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon, Artistry Blooms Sequins
Tools: Tasteful Labels Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Water Painters
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

#GDP249: Let Your Faith Be Bigger Than Your Fear

Today's card is inspired by the color challenge at Global Design Project this week, and I used some of my favorites when I created it!

The flowers along the side are from the Jar of Flowers stamp set, and I heat embossed them in white on Misty Moonlight cardstock. Don't let the flowers in that set intimidate you - they don't necessarily have to be colored! I used Stampin' Write Markers to ink up my stamp. This is an easy way to get two colors on one image. If you don't feel like the coverage is as good as an ink pad, use your Stamparatus and you can ink multiple times until you get the look that you want.

I finished the card off with some Elegant Faceted Gems, and Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, colored with the Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Marker.

Thanks for stopping by today! Here is a full list of supplies:

Stamps: Jar of Flowers, Ridiculously Awesome
Ink: Stampin' Write Markers: Misty Moonlight, Pool Party; Stampin' Blends Markers: Dark Petal Pink

Tools: Tasteful Labels Dies, Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

When in Doubt, Be a Unicorn!

The new Hippo Happiness Bundle is one of my favorites! I used it for the first time on today's card.

What do you think of the color palette? I used Purple Posy, Magenta Madness, and Blackberry Bliss. I think these are the perfect colors for a unicorn card!

I also paired this bundle with the Rainbow Glimmer Paper. Rainbows and unicorns are a no brainer combination, don't you think? If you look carefully, I die cut the unicorn horn with the glimmer paper!

I have a few tips for you after making this card:
  • Two step stamps always take a bit of practice for me. So don't give up if you can't get the different pieces lined up correctly the first time! I found that it was easier to stamp the darker part of the unicorn first, and then the larger, lighter piece. (To get the lighter color, I stamped off one time first.) I also found it helpful to look at the samples in the catalog and others I've seen online so that I knew how the stamps should line up.
  • I used the new Water Painters for the first time for the background. It seems to take more pressure to get water out than it did for the former Aqua Painters. But overall, I liked them!
  • I used my Stampin' Blends Markers to color the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. I started with Light Magenta Madness, blended into Dark Magenta Madness, then Light Blackberry Bliss, and finally Dark Blackberry Bliss. Multicolored ribbon is so fun!
This bundle is a must have! If you'd like to see more of it, I am featuring it as my product of the week over on my Facebook page this week.

Stamps: Hippo Happiness
Ink: Magenta Madness, Blackberry Bliss, Stampin' Blends Markers: Light & Dark Magenta Madness, Light & Dark Blackberry Bliss
Paper: Purple Posy, Whisper White, Watercolor Paper, Rainbow Glimmer Paper
Embellishments: Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
Tools: Stitched Be Mine Dies, Hippo & Friends Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Water Painters
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Multipurpose Glue
