Relaxing Waterside Card Class

Trusty Tools Card Class Sneak Peek

Happy Thursday, friends!

 

I've recently shared that I am still working towards my goal of earning the Stampin' Up! incentive trip this year. In an effort to do that, I will be offering several bonus card classes over the next few months that include exclusive Sale-a-bration products.

#TGIFC421: Happy Retirement

The challenge at TGIF Challenges this week is a theme challenge. Time to get inspired to start creating cards for the men in your life!

 

I used the Gone Fishing stamp set and Let's Go Fishing Designer Series Paper for my card.

 

This card layout is a nice, easy one. I cut the background piece of Designer Series Paper to 4" x 5 1/4", and the the square piece to 3" x 3". Then I layered some Misty Moonlight cardstock behind that measured 3 1/4" x 3 1/4". 

 

Did you know that you can get 16 squares of Designer Series Paper out of one 12" x 12" piece when you cut it this size? Then just choose a sentiment and label of some sort and add it on the corner with ribbon, twine, or embellishments if you'd like. Easy peasy!

Well Dressed Birthday Card

It's hard to believe, but there is just one week left of Sale-a-bration. That kind of snuck up on me with everything that's been going on in the past few weeks. Are you doing ok? I have been trying to check in with friends and family more frequently, because I know that this pandemic has caused me to have some stressful and worry-filled days. But today was a good day, and I hope it gives me momentum to keep on going because tomorrow we start home-schooling for at least a few weeks, and I'm going to need some extra momentum!

Today's card uses the Well Dressed stamp set, which you can get for free during Sale-a-bration when you place a $50 order. This is a masculine set, although I have seen some great feminine samples too! It does not include any sentiments, so your options are endless - you can pair it with any sentiment you like. 

The color combination includes Crumb Cake, Blueberry Bushel, and Call Me Clover. These colors go great together! Blueberry Bushel and Call Me Clover will be retiring with this catalog, so make sure to add them to your cart if you don't already have them. Blueberry Bushel is one of my favorites, and I have been using it a lot recently!

Father's Day Card with A Good Man

When I first looked through the new catalog, one of the stamp sets that caught my eye right away was A Good Man. The sentiments and images were just so fitting for some of the men in my life! So of course I had to put it on my first order, and use it right away!


I'm showing you two versions of this card today. The first is one I did for a card swap. I had to make 21 of this card, so I decided to skip coloring the image. Instead, I stamped it in Night of Navy, and I think it still looks great!

For the second card, I stamped the image in Memento Black and colored with Stampin' Blends. I colored it to resemble my husband and oldest daughter. This is the one I will give to my husband for Father's Day.

Colored or not, the images and sentiments in this stamp set are perfect for all of your masculine cards. Add this stamp set to your next order - it will be a good one to have in your collection!

Geared Up Garage Class

I am finally getting caught up, and this is a class I have wanted to offer for quite awhile. It features the Geared Up Garage stamp set and Garage Gears Dies, perfect for all your masculine cards! I also used the retired Classic Garage DSP, and because it is not available anymore, I have a limited number of kits I can sell. #GDP186: You Jumpstart My Heart

The Geared Up Garage Bundle is not one that was at the top of my wish list. I challenged myself to create a class with it (coming soon!), and to use it in a Facebook Live. I needed some inspiration, so I used this week's sketch over at Global Design Project.

I think it turned out pretty well! I used all products from the suite, with the exception of the stitched heart - that is cut with the Be Mine Stitched Framelits.

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Today is my dad's birthday, so I thought I would share the card I sent to him. Several retiring products here, and time is running out! I love the True Gentleman DSP for masculine cards. I sometimes have trouble coming up with ideas for the men and boys in my life, but this paper makes it so easy!

I used the Classic Label Punch to punch out 'DAD'. If you need a shorter label, just punch twice!

#TGIFC112: Happy Father's Day!

Am I the only one who procrastinates on making cards that I need to make? Friday afternoon hit, and I knew a Father's Day card had to be made for my husband before he got home from work for the weekend.


Thankfully, I had a few places to draw inspiration from: a card I made for my display samples back in November (see if you can pick it out here!), and this week's TGIF Challenge:

Making a masculine card is hard for me, because I like to add a lot of "girly" touches to my cards, like bows and sparkly embellishments. Sometimes I just can't figure out what to add to complete a masculine card! But I think this one turned out ok. What do you think?

Washi tape is a good go-to embellishment for a masculine card, and my personal opinion is that ribbon or thread is ok, as long as it isn't tied in a bow. Do you have any tips for masculine cards? I would love to hear them! Please share them with us in the comments.
