Hopping by to Just Say Hi

I've been waiting to share today's card with you for a long time! In April, my team leader did a fun creative challenge with our team. Those who participated were split into teams, and each week she gave us different criteria for creating cards. We got points for each of the items we included, and sometimes there were extra challenges like this one - a slimline card. This was probably my favorite card that I created during the entire challenge. Take a look!

I used the Layering Circles Dies to cut out some "windows" for my kangaroos. I was inspired by Erica Cerwin, who did a peekaboo card like this, although hers was not a slimline card.

Here is a full list of my supplies:
Stamps: Kangaroo & Company
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Memento Black, Stampin' Blends Markers: Cinnamon Cider, Petal Pink
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Basic White, Flirty Flamingo, Pattern Party Designer Series Paper
Embellishments: Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack
Tools: Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Tasteful Labels Dies, Kangaroo Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal+, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

If you like this card and you'd like to receive a tutorial for it, be sure to join my email list. I'll be sending a tutorial for this card next Monday to my email subscribers!

#GDP282: Wonderful Purple Posy Card

This week the Global Design Project challenge is a sketch challenge!

I love sketches - they're an easy way to get inspired, and you can make them work with any products you want to use! Here's what I came up with:

I used one of my favorite retiring in colors - Purple Posy. Since there is no Purple Posy ink, I decided to create a very subtle background by stamping a floral image in Versamark ink. Because Purple Posy is such a light color to begin with, it really was subtle! I added a little bit of Wink of Stella on the flowers for a bit of sparkle, and to draw more attention to the background. It's hard to capture in a photo, but it's beautiful in person!

I also used the Woven Threads Sequins to embellish my card. I'm sure these sequins will be retiring too, and I will be so sad to see them go. I think they've been my favorite sequins of all time!

Here is a full list of supplies used on this card:
Stamps: Bloom & Grow
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Purple Posy, Basic Black, Basic White, True Love DSP
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins, Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack
Tools: Stitched Be Mine Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, White Embossing Poweder, Heat Tool, Wink of Stella
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue

#GDP280: You Are Capable of Amazing Things

I am back for another challenge at the Global Design Project this week! This week's challenge is a CASE the designer challenge.

I decided to use the Hydrangea Haven Bundle - it's one of my favorites and followed along with the floral theme of Janneke's card. I also followed her layout pretty closely.

The dies in this bundle are really spectacular! For the leaves on the bottom, I used the detailed die, and then also cut out the outline of the hydrangea and stem/leaves to get the solid piece behind. I simply trimmed off the flower and placed the other die-cut in its place.

To get the soft blue color on the blooms, I used my Blending Brush. I suppose you could use a sponge too. My craft room suffers from severe disorganization, and my sponges were nowhere in sight.... But the Blending Brush worked very well. I just held the die-cut in hand and very lightly circled the Blending Brush around.

I love these hydrangeas, and I hope you do too! Here is a full list of supplies for this card:
Stamps: Hydrangea Haven
Ink: Seaside Spray, Soft Suede
Paper: Soft Suede, Basic White, Seaside Spray, Pear Pizzazz, Hydrangea Hill DSP
Embellishments: Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack, Pastel Pearls
Tools: Hydrangea Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Banners Pick a Punch, Blending Brushes
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Multipurpose Glue

Shopping with a Discount (& some cute cards too!)

Have you heard about Sale-a-bration yet? It's Stampin' Up!'s biggest sale of the year, and there are several ways you can earn free stuff. If you've been around awhile, you are probably aware of how this works. If not, here's a brief overview:

If you're looking for the best deal, you'll want to purchase the starter kit. It's $99, and you get to pick $125 of product - whatever you want from your wish list! You don't pay shipping on the starter kit ($12.50 value), a free past Paper Pumpkin kit is included ($22 value), and during Sale-a-bration, you'll also get 5 free packs of paper (more on that in a minute - $57.50 value). WOW! You can see a peek at that pretty paper here:

After you purchase the starter kit, you'll be able to start shopping with a discount. I don't know about you, but I like a good deal! The discount starts at 20%. And you can still earn Sale-a-bration rewards and host rewards - without paying full price! Here's an example:

Let's say I want to order a few things on my wish list.
As a customer:
  • Hydrangea Hill Bundle - $52
  • Gorgeous Posies Card Kit - $32
  • Gorgeous Posies stamp set - $19
  • Ice Cream Corner Suite Collection - $56
Subtotal: $159
S & H: $15.90
My tax: $13.64
Total: $188.54

Don't forget: because I'm spending $150, I also receive host benefits of $15 free AND 3 $50 Sale-a-bration items or 1 $50 Sale-a-bration item and 1 $100 Sale-a-bration item.

As a new demonstrator:
  • Hydrangea Hill Bundle - $52
  • Gorgeous Posies Card Kit - $32
  • Gorgeous Posies stamp set - $19
  • Ice Cream Corner Suite Collection - $56
Subtotal: $159
S & H: $15.90
My tax: $13.64
Total: $188.54
Less $31.80 (20% discount on subtotal)
New total: $156.74

But wait! There's more! Even with my discount, I STILL receive host benefits on the $159 subtotal, so I receive the host benefits AND the Sale-a-bration items even as a demonstrator with my 20% off.

Shopping with a discount is awesome, don't you agree?!

Now, if you've made it this far, I do have a few cards to share with you today. These cards both feature paper from the stacks you can get for free when you purchase a starter kit during Sale-a-bration.

I also used the Approaching Perfection stamp set, which you can earn as a Sale-a-bration reward on your first order as a new demonstrator using your discount!

One Sheet Wonder: Paper Blooms & So Sentimental

It's Sale-a-bration time, and that means you can earn freebies for every $50 you spend! One of my favorite freebies this year is the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper. The color combinations in this paper are so pretty together!

I decided to take one of my favorite patterns and do a "one sheet wonder". Have you ever tried this before? I searched on Pinterest for a one sheet wonder template - you can find all sorts of them there. Then I cut my paper.

The idea is to make a bunch of cards from one sheet of Designer Series Paper and it helps you to use it all up. Win win! This particular template has a few leftover pieces, some of which you could use for the insides of your cards to make them match. I ended up with 9 cards, which I thought was pretty good!

I used just a few coordinating products to complete my cards - the So Sentimental Bundle, Elegant Faceted Gems, Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack, and Night of Navy ink, plus a few colors of cardstock. Psst... if you buy the bundle and a few of the coordinating products, you'll earn the paper for free!

Here is a full list of the supplies I used:
Stamps: So Sentimental
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Night of Navy, Petal Pink, Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray, Soft Sea Foam, Paper Blooms DSP
Embellishments: Elegant Faceted Gems, Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack
Tools: Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

If you'd like to place an order and earn this paper for free, you can do that here.

Happy Stamping!
