#TGIFC107 Hugs for a Great Friend

This week, I am participating in the TGIF Challenges theme challenge, a sympathy or get well card.

I love all of my retiring products, but those new ones are just so fun to play with! I had to pull out the Lovely Words Thinlits and the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set for this challenge because I thought they fit the theme perfectly. I didn't think I needed this bundle from the new catalog, but then Stampin' Up! shared a video with demonstrators that showed samples using these products, and I couldn't resist any longer!

Today's card is actually a fancy fold card. Check it out!

To recreate it, cut an 8" x 8" square of cardstock. Then score at 4" on both sides, and cut out one of the squares. Easy peasy, and so fun!

It's hard to tell, but I wanted to add a little bit of extra sparkle to match the Glitter Enamel dots, so I got out my Wink of Stella and painted over the "hugs" cut-out. I also used Wink of Stella on my White Baker's Twine. It's very subtle, but adds just a little bit of sparkle, and who doesn't love that?!

The final thing I love about this card? The color combination! Whisper White, Basic Black, Berry Burst, and Powder Pink. You'll be seeing more of those colors around here because it's my new favorite!

I hope you enjoyed today's card, and the sneak peek of all of these fun new products!

Stamps: Lovely Inside & Out
Ink: Powder Pink (stamped off once), Berry Burst
Paper: Whisper White, Berry Burst, Pick a Pattern DSP
Accessories & Tools: Lovely Words Thinlits, Big Shot, Glitter Enamel Dots, White Baker's Twine, Wink of Stella

Birthday Memories Twisted Pop-Up Card

I have a really cool card to share with you today! Well, I think it's really cool. My kids were not impressed when I showed it to them. It's called a Twisted Pop-Up card, and I've seen this fancy fold all over the place recently. I watched this video by The Pampered Stamper to learn how to do it, and had success on my first try!

The front of the card looks like a regular card...

...but then you open it up and get a surprise!

I thought the greetings and characters from the new Birthday Memories Suite were just perfect for this style of card. What do you think?

Stamps: Birthday Delivery (available June 1)
Ink: Pacific Point
Paper: Crumb Cake, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Birthday Memories DSP (available June 1)
Accessories & Tools: Layering Circles Framelits, Layering Squares Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Big Shot, Pretty Label Punch (available June 1), White Baker's Twine

Cool Treats Classes to Go

I am excited to offer you two new Classes to Go this month! It has been awhile since I've been able to offer a class to go, but I hope to make this a monthly occurrence again. Each month, I plan to offer two options - a card-making option and a scrapbooking option. Both will use the same stamp set, so you can get both options and pay only a little bit more for the second class. If you choose the scrapbooking option, please know that shipping will be a bit higher since the 12" x 12" pages will need to be shipped in a Medium Flat Rate Box.

Are you ready to see this month's choices? Here they are!

The card class includes the Cool Treats stamp set, White Baker's Twine, and the supplies and instructions to make the 4 cards pictured.
The scrapbooking class includes the Cool Treats stamp set, Sprinkles Embellishments, Fine Tip Glue, and the supplies and instructions to make the three 12" x 12" scrapbook pages pictured. You supply your own inks and adhesive.

The cost for the card class is $43 for local pick-up or $50 shipped.
The cost for the scrapbooking class is $56 for local pick-up or $70 shipped.
If you would like both classes, the cost is $65 for local pick-up or $80 shipped.
You can also purchase the tutorial only for $20.
The deadline to register for these classes is May 23. Your class kits will ship by May 31.
Please email me to purchase any of the options listed above.

Bonus: If you place an additional order of at least $25 now through May 23 using hostess code 6DGWA3ZA, I will send an extra set of cards with your kit! This is a great way to purchase any coordinating inks or adhesives you need to complete your projects. Coordinating colors this month are Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizzazz, Watermelon Wonder, and Whisper White Craft ink.

Happy Birthday, Dad! #TGIFC105

I have followed the TGIF Challenges blog since its beginning, but I've never participated in any of the challenges. Until now, that is! It's a birthday/party theme this week for their second birthday, and it also happens to be my dad's birthday today, so the timing was perfect!

http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com/

This was one of those cards that took me an entire afternoon to create. I know you are wondering how this simple card could take so long. Well, my dad likes those pink flamingo lawn ornaments, and I really wanted to incorporate flamingos into my card. I just couldn't make it work on the front, but inside there's a little surprise!

I used a few new products on my card today - I hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Stamps: Pop of Paradise, Birthday Delivery (brand new!)
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Pacific Point
Paper: Lemon Lime Twist (brand new!), Whisper White, Pacific Point
Accessories: Large Polka Dot EF (no longer available), Layering Circles Framelits, Happy Birthday Thinlits (brand new!), Big Shot, Brights Sequin Assortment (retiring - on sale now!)

Lift Me Up Swap Card

As most of you know, I got to attend Stampin' Up!'s OnStage event in San Diego a few weeks ago. I thought I would share the card I brought to swap with you today.

I participated in an organized swap, which means I met with a group of demonstrators at a specific time and we all traded cards. I also brought some extra for general swaps - trading with anyone else who asked me. I got a good variety of cards in return for mine, and it's always fun to see other's ideas!

I decided to use the Lift Me Up bundle for my cards. I was hoping it would carry over to the next catalog - and it is!

Welcome to the World!

I don't know about you, but I am in the stage of life where people I know are having babies. Two baby boys were born in our circle of family and friends in the last week and a half, and I thought it was the perfect excuse to use the Little Cuties stamp set!

I used a mix of new and old products on this card - from the Stitched Shapes Framelits to the Happy Happenings stamp set to the brand new Copper Trim, they are all must haves! Speaking of that Copper Trim, here's a close up:

You'll be able to get your hands on that June 1, but both stamp sets I used on this card are retiring, so make sure you order those soon! If you'd like to see what else is coming in June, please take my short survey and request a catalog. I will be sending them out in the middle of May, and I would be happy to send you one too! (Plus, anyone who takes the survey will be entered to win an ink pad of your choice!)

What else have I been up to lately? I'm glad you asked! I am continuing to organize my new crafting space, and I was able to purchase my very first Stamp 'n' Storage organizers. I am in LOVE with them, and can't wait to order more!

If you are in the market for some craft organization, you can use my referral link and get a 10% discount on your first purchase. I highly recommend this company, and the organizers fit perfectly in my IKEA Kallax shelf!

Here is a complete list of supplies used on today's card:
Stamps: Little Cuties, Happy Happenings
Ink: Tuxedo Black, Pear Pizzazz
Paper: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Watercolor Paper
Accessories & Tools: Brights Enamel Dots, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Big Shot, Copper Trim, Watercolor Pencils, Aquapainter

Eastern Palace Hello

Wow, another month has gone by without a blog post. Time flies! Luckily for you, I have a few cards to share; now I just need to get the blog posts written.

Have you seen the new Eastern Palace Suite? I still have a lot of projects to do with the retiring products, but boy is it fun to use the new stuff right away! The Eastern Palace Suite is a new set of products that will be available in the new Annual Catalog, but Stampin' Up! has released them early. Demonstrators can purchase them this month, and customers will be able to purchase them in May. Exciting, right?!

I LOVE the font of the greetings, and there are so many design options with these stamps. Then you add in the coordinating dies, and it gets even better! I had to try everything out as soon as my box arrived, and I decided to make a card to welcome a new member to my team. She joined during Sale-a-bration, and I wanted to send her a fun card with her little welcome gift.

Did I mention the DSP and the little tassels?! All of the products in this suite really coordinate perfectly, and I can't wait to play with them more!

Stamps: Eastern Beauty (NEW!)
Ink: Fresh Fig (NEW!)
Paper: Eastern Palace Specialty DSP (NEW!), Gold Foil, Very Vanilla
Accessories & Tools: Very Vanilla Notecards & Envelopes (NEW!), Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies (NEW!), Big Shot, Mini Tassels Assortment (NEW!), Gold Baker's Twine (retired)
