Welcome back! I thought it would be fun to show you what my monthly card club looks like, so today we're going to walk through what I included in April's kit. If this is the first time you've heard me mention my monthly card club, here are a few of the details:
This club is one of my favorite things to design and put together all month long. Each month, you'll get the supplies to make 8 cards - 2 each of 4 designs. Here were the card designs for April.
Besides the cardstock pieces and envelopes, your monthly kit will also include $20-22 of product. This month that product was a 1/2 package of the See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper, a package of Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins, and the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack. You'll use those products on your cards, but also have some left over for other projects. I feature one stamp set/bundle every month. This is not included in the kit, however, you can add it on, and I will cover your tax and shipping as a perk of belonging to the club, or you can use a stamp set you already own. If you haven't guessed already, this month I featured the Timeless Tulip Bundle.
You can subscribe or cancel at any time, but when you subscribe by the 20th of the month, you'll get that month's kit. I order everything and ship out by the end of the month. Then I send you a fun little package that looks like this:

Stampin' Up! has been posting fun color challenges the last few weeks to help keep people stamping during this extra time at home. I finally made the time to participate in last week's challenge, and I used a stamp set that hasn't seen much ink yet in my craft room. Here is the color combination:

I know Crumb Cake is not a traditional color for leaves (unless they're dead, right?), but I think it works here. It gives the card a little bit of a vintage feel. The stamped images come from the Bloom & Grow stamp set, which caught my eye when the catalog first came out. I've had the set for awhile, but haven't used it except for one of the sentiments, so it was time to ink it up! I love the florals, and I'll definitely be using it again!
As I was editing this close up, I noticed that I totally missed coloring one of the leaves! We're just going to chalk that up to quarantine brain (it's a new thing). Haha!

Today's card was inspired by the color challenge at Global Design Project this week. And after I finished it, it also reminded me of a card I created last year (or maybe even two years ago???). Let's see what you think! Here are the colors:

This is last year's card... I think it's safe to say I like these colors together and I just love florals!
If you follow me on Facebook, you might recognize the watercolored pieces - I am featuring the Peaceful Poppies Elements on my Facebook page this week, and I showed a sneak peek of these yesterday. The pieces come already embossed and ready to punch out - you just have to add ink with an Aqua Painter. There are also pre-printed pieces, vellum pieces, and different sizes of black labels and banners. You get 8 sheets total - wow!
The sentiment and label come from the So Sentimental Bundle - one of my favorites in the Spring Mini Catalog. See a full list of supplies below.

If you follow my blog, you've probably figured out that I love a good challenge. Challenges are a fun place to start when coming up with the idea for a card. This week, I am playing along with the Global Design Project challenge - CASEing one of the designers. Here is her card:
I decided to use the Timeless Tulips stamp set just like she did, but I went with deep purple tulips and used Blackberry Bliss cardstock and ink.
I had Mossy Meadow out, and I thought that the rich green paired well with the dark purple. Crumb Cake is a good neutral when you want something other than white for your card base. And then I added a few additional details, inspired by Janneke's card - the vellum circle embossed with the Scripty Embossing Folder and a few Frosted Epoxy Droplets.
This card did require quite a bit of fussy cutting, but other than that, it's pretty simple! You could change up the colors for lots of fun combinations.

Today's card was inspired by the color challenge at TGIF Challenges - a rainbow color challenge!
When I was younger, I had a book called "Rachel's Rainbow", and I have always loved rainbows. I couldn't think of a better stamp set to pair with the rainbow theme than Under My Umbrella!
I've seen so many pretty water-colored cards recently, so I've been itching to watercolor. There are a couple of different ways to do this. My favorite is to press a clear block directly into the ink pad, and then use an Aquapainter to pick up the ink from the block.
I water-colored three different parts of this card - the background is a watercolor wash of Blueberry Bushel. The umbrella was heat embossed in white and water-colored with Gorgeous Grape, Pineapple Punch, and Blueberry Bushel. And finally - for the hearts I did smaller areas of color on Watercolor Paper - Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, and Call Me Clover - and then cut out with the Be Mine Stitched Dies.
I used just the 2018-2020 In Colors, plus Gorgeous Grape, for this card. They make a great rainbow, don't you think?
If you like these colors, make sure to grab them soon! They'll be retiring with this catalog at the beginning of June, but will probably start to sell out once the retiring list is published later this month. Here is a full list of supplies:

I have a sneak peek for you today - the Ornate Garden Suite is a new suite of products from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog that starts in June. However, Stampin' Up! is releasing this suite early, in April, or you can add these products to your starter kit right now! The suite includes 2 stamp sets, 2 sets of dies, a ribbon combo pack, an embossing folder, and some gold gems. I think you will love everything!
The color scheme for my card today was inspired by last week's GDP color challenge. I didn't quite get my card finished in time to enter the challenge, but I love how the card turned out, and I still wanted to share it with you!
I used the Corrugated Embossing Folder for the Petal Pink piece in the background. This embossing folder has been on my wish list for a long time, and I finally added it to my last order. I think it will get a lot of use - it adds the perfect texture to your projects!
I had all of my teacher friends in mind when I picked the sentiment for this card. When I was a teacher, it was always SO much extra work to get ready for a substitute teacher, and teachers everywhere are having to prepare for substitute teachers (parents) who aren't even teachers! This morning, our schools officially closed for the remainder of the school year, and I am still trying to wrap my brain around what that means for my family. Lots of challenges ahead for sure, but stamping is my stress relief - so that is not going to change! Hopefully stamping is stress relief for you too, and you can find some time in your day to be creative.

I have TWO cards to share with you today! One of these is a card we made at my last card class, and the other was a card with basically the same layout that I created for a friend who needed a baby shower card. Both cards feature the So Very Vellum paper that you can get for free during Sale-a-bration, plus the Under My Umbrella stamp set. My intention was to create a third card using the Soft Sea Foam vellum, but I just haven't found the time this week. Being quarantined to your house is supposed to give you more time, right? Well, I'm not finding that true at my house. Here are the two cards side by side.
Here's a tip: if you find a layout you like for a card, use it on several cards and just change some of the elements! This was the first card I created for my card class.
I used the Pleased as Punch paper for the umbrella on this one, and the Woven Threads Sequins for a little embellishment.
Right around the time of my card class, a friend asked if I could make her a card for a baby shower she was invited to. Of course I said yes, and I used the same layout to make creating easy. I still used the Pleased as Punch paper for the umbrella, but this time I stamped and colored flowers with my Stampin' Blends Markers, and then fussy cut them and added them to the umbrella. I added a few Silver Glimmer hearts cut with the Be Mine Stitched Dies to go along with the sentiment, 'Showered with Love'.
Which card do you like better? I'm partial to the purple one, because it's my favorite color!
