Flowering Cactus Anniversary Card

I have one more Flowering Cactus card to share with you today. This product medley was my absolute favorite thing in the January-June Mini Catalog! It's one of those things that will stay on my shelf even after it retires.

As some of you know, my husband and I celebrated our tenth anniversary this month. It took me awhile to decide what I wanted to do for his card, but when I settled on the Flowering Cactus Product Medley, it was the perfect choice! We met in Arizona, and have lived here for the past 4 1/2 years. Here's the card:

I also did a little bit of decorating on the inside. I wanted it to be special!

Do you see the stitched heart? It comes from the Give it a Whirl Dies set, and to be honest, the stitched hearts in that set are what made me want to purchase it! The little tag comes from the Hydrangea Dies, and the sentiment is from the Hydrangea Haven stamp set.

Here is a full list of the products I used on this card:
Stamps: Hydrangea Haven
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Basic White, Calypso Coral, Flowering Cactus DSP
Embellishments: Linen Thread (Flowering Cactus Product Medley)
Tools: Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Give it a Whirl Dies, Hydrangea Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Playful Alphabet Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin' Seal+, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

Happy Stamping!

#GDP297: You Are Unique

It's been a long while since I participated in a Global Design Project challenge, but I needed to create something that wasn't for a class, and I love a good color challenge! Here are the colors for this week's challenge:

I am featuring the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle on Facebook this week, and I wanted to incorporate that into my design. Kill two birds with one stone, right? Well, these colors didn't exactly scream seashore.... but I made it work, and I kind of love how it turned out! Take a look:

This bundle comes with a large die that coordinates with some of the stamped images, as well as an embossing folder. The greenery was trimmed from that large die. The shells are stamped in Blackberry Bliss, and I used a Blender Pen to add a little bit more color to the small one. The starfish is stamped in Fresh Freesia.

The sentiment label is cut from the Potted Succulent Dies - it was the perfect fit for this sentiment! And don't you love how striking the white embossing is on a dark color like Blackberry Bliss? I sure do! I finished the card off with a few of the Artistry Blooms Sequins.

This card was so fun to make! When I'm designing for classes, I tend to make simpler cards, or stick to a certain group of products. I didn't think about any of that while making this card, and just used whatever I wanted! The creative time was just what I needed.

Here is a full list of the supplies I used:
Stamps: Friends Are Like Seashells
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Fresh Freesia
Paper: Thick Basic White, Basic White, Blackberry Bliss, Pear Pizzazz, 2021-2023 In Color DSP
Embellishments: Artistry Blooms Sequins
Tools: Seaside Seashells Dies, Potted Succulents Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Blender Pens
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal+, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

Happy Stamping!

Hopping by to Just Say Hi

I've been waiting to share today's card with you for a long time! In April, my team leader did a fun creative challenge with our team. Those who participated were split into teams, and each week she gave us different criteria for creating cards. We got points for each of the items we included, and sometimes there were extra challenges like this one - a slimline card. This was probably my favorite card that I created during the entire challenge. Take a look!

I used the Layering Circles Dies to cut out some "windows" for my kangaroos. I was inspired by Erica Cerwin, who did a peekaboo card like this, although hers was not a slimline card.

Here is a full list of my supplies:
Stamps: Kangaroo & Company
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Memento Black, Stampin' Blends Markers: Cinnamon Cider, Petal Pink
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Basic White, Flirty Flamingo, Pattern Party Designer Series Paper
Embellishments: Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack
Tools: Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Tasteful Labels Dies, Kangaroo Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal+, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

If you like this card and you'd like to receive a tutorial for it, be sure to join my email list. I'll be sending a tutorial for this card next Monday to my email subscribers!
