#tgifc269: Wildly Grateful

Today's card was inspired by the challenge over at TGIF Challenges, as well as a sample in the catalog. Here's the challenge:

And here's the catalog sample:

Want to see my take on it?

I stamped images from the Lovely You stamp set in Night of Navy, Gray Granite, Mango Melody, and Petal Pink ink to make my background paper. A few extra elements finished off the card:
  • Elegant Faceted Gems
  • Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack (gold thread)
  • In Good Taste Elements

I just love all the coordination that Stampin' Up! provides - don't you think the In Good Taste Elements match up perfectly with the images in the Lovely You stamp set?

You Are My Sunshine

For today's card, I used many of my favorite new items from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog:
  • Ridiculously Awesome stamp set
  • Tasteful Labels Dies
  • In Good Taste Designer Series Paper
  • Elegant Faceted Gems

I heat embossed the sentiment in white right on the Designer Series Paper. I paired it with the sunflower pattern from the Flowers for Every Season paper. To get the angled paper, I just cut a piece 5 1/4 x 4", then put it in my Stampin' Trimmer and lined it up at the angle I wanted. I cut a 1/2" strip of Bumblebee cardstock and layered it behind, then just trimmed the edges.

The card is finished off with a few Elegant Faceted Gems and Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon. Here's a full list of supplies:

Stamps: Ridiculously Awesome
Paper: Just Jade, Whisper White, Bumblebee, Flowers for Every Season DSP, In Good Taste DSP
Embellishments: Elegant Faceted Gems, 1/4" Bumblebee Gingham Trim
Tools: Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Tasteful Labels Dies
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

So Proud of You!

Today's card was inspired by one I saw in our demonstrator Facebook group a week or two ago. I don't remember who shared the card, but she used Seaside Spray to color in the flowers from the Jar of Flowers stamp set, and I loved that! I really like the color combination of Seaside Spray with the new in color Misty Moonlight, and I added in a few more colors to create my card. What do you think of this color combination?

I used my Stampin' Blends Markers to color the flowers - you can see a full list of colors below. Did you know that if you leave just a little bit of white on the edge when you color, it helps give the illusion of natural light on the flowers? I learned that tip from one of my team members during a recent team event. This was the first time I tried it, and I think it worked!

Other tips for using the Jar of Flowers set:
  • The stamps are reversible, so I used the solid image of the smaller jar piece to "color" the water in the jar. I stamped Seaside Spray ink off once for a lighter shade.
  • Make sure to stamp your stems lined up at the top of the jar, not the bottom!
  • If the stems and flowers don't line up perfectly, it's ok! That's the perfect place to tie a ribbon.

I used another new stamp set for the sentiment - A Grand Kid. I obviously don't have any grandkids, but this set has a lot of great sentiments for everyone! You can pair any sentiments you like with the Jar of Flowers stamp set - it's very versatile.

Here is a full list of supplies:
Stamps: Jar of Flowers, A Grand Kid
Ink: Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, Memento Black, Stampin' Blends Markers - Light & Dark Seaside Spray, Light & Dark Old Olive, Light & Dark Mango Melody, Dark Misty Moonlight
Paper: Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Embellishments: Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack
Tools: Jar Punch, Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

2020-2021 Annual Catalog Top Ten

It's new catalog day!!! I am always excited for a new catalog, but for some reason, this one is even more exciting than normal for me. I think it's a combination of the promotions Stampin' Up! is offering starting today and the fact that I love SO many things in the catalog! If you haven't had a chance to look at the new catalog yet, you can view it here.

Speaking of those promotions, there are two of them. First, a host/ordering special - host a party with at least $250 in sales, or place an order that large, and you'll earn an EXTRA $25 in host rewards (free stuff!). You can shop here

The second promotion is a starter kit promotion. If you are looking for the best deal, the starter kit is it! This option is for you if your order is around $100, or if your wish list is really long. The starter kit is $99 + tax (free shipping!). You get to pick $125 of things off of your wish list, PLUS a free bundle of your choice. The bundles are pictured on p. 168-169 and p. 173-179. When you buy the starter kit, you get $26 in free product of your choice, plus a free bundle of your choice (and some of these are valued at close to $60!). You will also get a 20% discount on your future purchases, so you can buy even more of your wish list. AND, demonstrators get to see the new Holiday Catalog later this month and order from it in July! Purchase the starter kit here.

Ok... now for my favorites. It was really hard to choose this time - there is so much that I love! But here are my top 10 (and a few bonus items).

1. In Good Taste Designer Series Paper

I love love love all the wood grain patterns in this paper! I also love that it is a huge pack of paper with 24 12" x 12" sheets!

2. Whale of a Time Suite

What's not to love? I love all of the products in this suite, I couldn't choose just one!

3. Ridiculously Awesome stamp set

This is a million dollar stamp set, designed by Ronda Wade. Sean Douglass, husband of our CEO Sara Douglass, hand lettered the sentiments. Aren't they beautiful?!

4. Artistry Blooms Sequins

I think this is my favorite new embellishment! Such pretty colors! And the best part - they already have adhesive on them.

5. New In Colors

Again, I can't choose just one product here. We weren't able to order the inks on our demonstrator preorder so those are definitely at the top of my list today. But I also love the Enamel Dots, the ribbon, the cardstock, and the Stampin' Blends Markers. These colors are gorgeous!

6. Lovely You Bundle

You've seen me use this one a few times already. I love the font and the sentiments, and the punch is really versatile! Definitely a new staple for your craft room.

7. Stampin' Seal & Stampin' Seal +

This is our brand new adhesive. I'm so excited to try it out! You can view a video about it here.

8. Tasteful Labels Dies

These are actually part of a stamp/die bundle, but I had to highlight the dies. They are STITCHED labels, and you all know how much I love anything stitched!

9. Hippo Happiness Bundle

This is another million dollar set, designed by Robyn Cardon. The stamp set is awesome, but just look at the dies! Not only do they cut out some of the stamped images, but more stitched labels!!!

And if you're buying this bundle, don't forget about the new Rainbow Glimmer Paper! I think it will make some awesome unicorn cards.

10. Flowers for Every Season Suite

Another one where I couldn't choose just one thing - two awesome stamp sets, beautiful paper featuring those in colors - so pretty!

Bonus - Cute Fruit stamp set

This is part of our Beginner Brochure, which is not just for beginner's! I think it's really cute, and it's on my wish list.

Bonus - Kits

I don't have enough in my budget to buy any of the kits yet, but there's two new kits that are just beautiful! Our kits are great for easy crafting, and I always love them!

What items are at the top of your list? Leave me a comment and let me know!

2020-2022 In Colors Card & Tag

Today's projects are CASEd straight from the catalog! The tag sample made me fall in love with the new in colors, as well as the Lovely You Bundle. I demonstrated these projects at a team event a few weeks ago, and I'm sharing them with you today.

These are easy to duplicate with just a few supplies, and many of them you might already own:
  • the Lovely You Bundle (154070) $42.25
  • 2020-2022 In Color Cardstock 8 1/2 x 11" (153074) $9.00
  • Whisper White Cardstock 8 1/2 x 11" (100730) $9.75
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock 8 1/2 x 11" (120953) $8.75
  • Versamark Ink Pad (102283) $9.50
  • Linen Thread (104199) $5.00
  • In Color Ribbon of your choice (I used Magenta Madness) $6.00 each
  • Early Espresso Ink, or another neutral color of your choice (147114) $7.50
  • Label Me Fancy Punch (151297) $18.00
Ink your stamps with the Versamark ink. It gives a subtle watermark image on the In Color cardstock without having to buy all of the new In Color ink pads. We weren't able to order the new inks during our demonstrator pre-order, but you can bet they are at the top of my list on my first order tomorrow!

For the tag, I cut the cardstock strips 1/2 x 4 1/2" and then punched both ends. For the card, the strips are 3/4 x 5 1/2", and punch both ends. I used the Label Me Fancy Punch to cut the notch for the ribbon on the tag. Here's a tip for lining it up: draw a small dot in the center where you'd like to punch. Then just line that dot up in the middle of the punch, and it will be right where you want it!

Have you checked out the new catalog yet? If not, tomorrow is the big day! Make sure to come back and check out my top 10 new items!

Happy Stamping!
