#GDP282: Wonderful Purple Posy Card

This week the Global Design Project challenge is a sketch challenge!

I love sketches - they're an easy way to get inspired, and you can make them work with any products you want to use! Here's what I came up with:

I used one of my favorite retiring in colors - Purple Posy. Since there is no Purple Posy ink, I decided to create a very subtle background by stamping a floral image in Versamark ink. Because Purple Posy is such a light color to begin with, it really was subtle! I added a little bit of Wink of Stella on the flowers for a bit of sparkle, and to draw more attention to the background. It's hard to capture in a photo, but it's beautiful in person!

I also used the Woven Threads Sequins to embellish my card. I'm sure these sequins will be retiring too, and I will be so sad to see them go. I think they've been my favorite sequins of all time!

Here is a full list of supplies used on this card:
Stamps: Bloom & Grow
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Purple Posy, Basic Black, Basic White, True Love DSP
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins, Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack
Tools: Stitched Be Mine Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, White Embossing Poweder, Heat Tool, Wink of Stella
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Stitched Leaves Plaid Card

Wow, it's been a month since I last shared a card with you! Let me explain... as you might have gathered from my blog name, I do a lot of my stamping while my kids are napping/having quiet time. My 2-year-old decided a few weeks ago that she was done with naps, but she definitely doesn't have the attention span to sit and watch a movie like her older siblings. So... I am figuring out how to still get my work done and not neglect my mom duties. It's a work in progress.

The card I have to share with you today is one that I started working on a few weeks ago. See the correlation? Haha! I used the Plaid Tidings paper as my starting point, and drew my color combination from there. Take a look:

Cherry Cobbler, Melon Mambo, and Seaside Spray are not colors I would have put together on my own, but this pattern was one of my favorites in this paper stack, and I ended up loving this combination!

The Seaside Spray ribbon threads are from the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon. All I did was pull the threads out of the ribbon for a more delicate look.

Here is a full list of supplies I used on this card:
Stamps: Love of Leaves
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Melon Mambo, Seaside Spray, Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper
Embellishments: Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon, Woven Threads Sequins
Tools: Stitched Leaves Dies, Meadow Moments Embossing Folders, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Multipurpose Glue

Happy Stamping!

#GDP258: Here for You

Did you read last week's post about the Get & Go promotion? You can get two free stamp sets added on to your starter kit this month! One of those stamp sets is called So Much Love, and I used it for today's card. I was inspired by the sketch at Global Design Project this week, although I didn't follow it exactly. I still love how the card turned out!

It might be hard to see in the photos, but I added Wink of Stella to the flowers, and it makes the card that much prettier! The large flowers in this stamp set can be stamped tone on tone for a nice background, or you can use a variety of mediums to color them. I chose to use Stampin' Blends this time, and Seaside Spray was an obvious choice because it's one of my favorite colors.

The card is finished off with some of the Seaside Spray sequins from the Woven Threads Sequins. Here is everything I used:

Stamps: So Much Love
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin' Blends: Seaside Spray, Old Olive
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Seaside Spray, In Good Taste DSP
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins
Tools: Wink of Stella, Stitched So Sweetly Dies
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Multipurpose Glue

Happy Stamping!

#keepstamping with Bloom and Grow

Stampin' Up! has been posting fun color challenges the last few weeks to help keep people stamping during this extra time at home. I finally made the time to participate in last week's challenge, and I used a stamp set that hasn't seen much ink yet in my craft room. Here is the color combination:

And here is my card:

I know Crumb Cake is not a traditional color for leaves (unless they're dead, right?), but I think it works here. It gives the card a little bit of a vintage feel. The stamped images come from the Bloom & Grow stamp set, which caught my eye when the catalog first came out. I've had the set for awhile, but haven't used it except for one of the sentiments, so it was time to ink it up! I love the florals, and I'll definitely be using it again!

As I was editing this close up, I noticed that I totally missed coloring one of the leaves! We're just going to chalk that up to quarantine brain (it's a new thing). Haha!

Stamps: Bloom & Grow
Ink: Early Espresso, Memento Black, Stampin' Blends Markers: Dark Pretty Peacock, Light & Dark Pool Party, Light Crumb Cake
Paper: Early Espresso, Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Embellishments: Linen Thread, Woven Threads Sequins
Tools: Budding Blooms Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Pinewood Planks EF
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Multipurpose Glue

So Very Vellum with Under My Umbrella

I have TWO cards to share with you today! One of these is a card we made at my last card class, and the other was a card with basically the same layout that I created for a friend who needed a baby shower card. Both cards feature the So Very Vellum paper that you can get for free during Sale-a-bration, plus the Under My Umbrella stamp set. My intention was to create a third card using the Soft Sea Foam vellum, but I just haven't found the time this week. Being quarantined to your house is supposed to give you more time, right? Well, I'm not finding that true at my house. Here are the two cards side by side.

Here's a tip: if you find a layout you like for a card, use it on several cards and just change some of the elements! This was the first card I created for my card class.

I used the Pleased as Punch paper for the umbrella on this one, and the Woven Threads Sequins for a little embellishment.

Right around the time of my card class, a friend asked if I could make her a card for a baby shower she was invited to. Of course I said yes, and I used the same layout to make creating easy. I still used the Pleased as Punch paper for the umbrella, but this time I stamped and colored flowers with my Stampin' Blends Markers, and then fussy cut them and added them to the umbrella. I added a few Silver Glimmer hearts cut with the Be Mine Stitched Dies to go along with the sentiment, 'Showered with Love'.

Which card do you like better? I'm partial to the purple one, because it's my favorite color!

I hope you are getting more crafting time than me these days. If you are looking for more crafty supplies, check out the BOGO Sale I'm hosting in my Facebook group, now through March 31. I'm offering extra freebies the more you spend, PLUS you'll earn Sale-a-bration rewards too! Here's a list of supplies I used on today's cards:

Stamps: Under My Umbrella
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin' Blends: Dark Purple Posy, Dark Pool Party, Light & Dark Granny Apple Green
Paper: Purple Posy, Whisper White, Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue, Pleased as Punch DSP, So Very Vellum DSP
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins, Whisper White Baker's Twine
Tools: Umbrella Builder Punch, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Be Mine Stitched Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

#GDP228: Lily Pad Thank You

Today's card was inspired by the challenge at Global Design Project, and a color challenge issued by my upline. I loved both, so I combined them in this beautiful card!

I drew several elements from Charlet's card - the Scripty embossing folder is used on a piece of vellum, backed by Whisper White cardstock. I arranged my lilies on the left side of the card, and used a 'thanks' sentiment from the Seriously the Best stamp set.

What is your favorite element on this card? I used so many of my favorites! Comment and let me know.

Stamps: Seriously the Best, Lovely Lily Pad
Ink: Gorgeous Grape, Pear Pizzazz
Paper: Sahara Sand, Gorgeous Grape, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Vellum, Sparkle Glimmer Paper
Embellishments: White Baker's Twine, Woven Threads Sequins
Tools: Scripty EF, Lily Pad Dies
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Glue

Season of Thanks

Today I am sharing one of the swap cards I made for a Holiday Catalog swap I was involved in recently. I used two more patterns from the Come to Gather DSP. I just love these polka dots!

Notice the sequins? I pulled the Pretty Peacock sequins out of the Woven Threads Sequins - these are my go-to embellishment - they are just so pretty!

The punch I used for the sentiment is called the Story Label Punch. It's a great staple to have in your collection. I also used the Gather Together Bundle - I'll be featuring this soon!

Stamps: Gather Together
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Pretty Peacock, Whisper White, Early Espresso, Come to Gather DSP
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins, Linen Thread, Come to Gather Ribbon Combo Pack
Tools: Story Label Punch, Gathered Leaves Dies, Die Cutting Machine

#GDP202: Woven Threads Card

It's time to design for my monthly card class, and I love a good sketch to get me started! The Global Design Project has a sketch challenge this week, so I decided to play along.

I used the Woven Threads DSP and sequins, and Itty Bitty Greetings seemed perfect for adding a small sentiment. Those who attend my class will have the option of switching out the sentiment and the DSP to make the card their own.

Those Woven Threads Sequins are just so pretty!

I hope you like my card, and there is plenty of time left if you'd like to play along with the challenge too!

Stamps: Itty Bitty Greetings
Ink: Terracotta Tile
Paper: Whisper White, Terracotta Tile, Woven Threads DSP
Embellishments: Terracotta Tile Scalloped Linen Ribbon, White Baker's Twine, Woven Threads Sequins
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glue Dots

I used one of my favorite new stamp sets, Above the Clouds, and another favorite - purple! I combined Highland Heather ink with Purple Posy paper, and those beautiful Woven Threads Sequins. Add in the Stitched Shapes Dies and the scalloped border from the Seasonal Layers Dies, and you have a card full of my favorite things!

You're Rawrsome!

Today's card features products from the Dinoroar Suite. This is my favorite suite of products in the new catalog! I suppose part of that is that I have young children, and quite a few nieces and nephews, but even if I didn't, I think I would still like it. The dinosaurs are so cute, and who can resist the cute sayings like "You're Rawrsome!"

This card was created as part of a challenge in my business training group, and I won! I was really excited, because this card was really fun to make, and I love how it turned out. I have many more ideas for these products, so you'll be seeing these little dinosaurs again. Here's a close up of all those details - of course I had to use the Woven Threads Sequins again!

Stamps: Dino Days
Ink: Seaside Spray, Calypso Coral
Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Pacific Point, 2019-2021 In Color 6 x 6" DSP
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins
Tools: Starburst Punch, Stitched Shapes Dies, Dino Dies, Die Cutting Machine, Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

Hi, Friend!

On Saturday, I'll be holding my new catalog kick off party as well as a big BOGO sale with my retired products. If you're coming, you may want to skip this post for now. The card I'm sharing today is the one we'll be making Saturday!

I recently participated in a card swap, and I CASEd this card from one I received back with the swaps. The swap card was designed by Kristina Rees. Here's the one she sent - I love it!

I don't have Free as a Bird yet, so I decided to substitute what I do have - Above the Clouds.

I watercolored with Seaside Spray on Shimmery White Cardstock, and of course I had to use the Woven Threads Sequins and White Baker's Twine again. (You'll be seeing them in my next post too...) I'm starting to think I can't create a card without those sequins anymore. They're just that good!

Stamps: Above the Clouds
Ink: Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose, Soft Suede, Pretty Peacock
Paper: Whisper White, Shimmery White, 2019-2021 In Color DSP Stack
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins, White Baker's Twine
Tools: Aquapainter, Hot Air Balloon Punch, Stitched Shapes Dies
Adhesives: SNAIL, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Modern Heart Color Challenge

If you follow me on Facebook, you saw a post last week about a color challenge my upline issued. I don't always have time to participate in her challenges, but she gives away a prize to a random person who participates, and this time the prize was a pack of Magnolia Lane Memories & More cards. Free stuff motivates me, especially pretty things like these cards, which happen to be on backorder right now. So... I had to participate! This was the color challenge:

And here is the card I created:

The Modern Heart stamp set is one of my favorites from the new catalog. And I have been using the Woven Thread Sequins and White Baker's Twine on ALL my projects recently! I love how this card turned out, and I hope you do, too!

Stamps: Modern Heart
Ink: Merry Merlot, Rococo Rose
Paper: Rococo Rose, Whisper White, Soft Suede, 2019-2021 6 x 6" DSP,
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins, White Baker's Twine, Rococo Rose 1/2" Gathered Ribbon

Let Your Dreams Soar!

One thing I've been doing a lot recently is CASEing the catalog. (CASEing basically means to copy. Copy and selectively edit is my favorite definition.) When you are looking for inspiration, or don't know where to begin with a stamp set, the catalog is a great place to go! This card features the Above the Clouds Bundle and several of the new In Colors.

Have you picked a favorite out of the new catalog yet? This bundle is definitely one of mine!

Stamps: Above the Clouds
Ink: Seaside Spray, Highland Heather, Terracotta Tile, Crumb Cake, Gorgeous Grape
Paper: Whisper White
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins, White Baker's Twine
Tools: Hot Air Balloon Punch
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glue Dots
