#GDP276: Trust Me, You're Lovely

Have you gotten any of the True Love DSP yet? It was one of the first things I ordered from this new catalog - what's not to love about black and white paper?! Even better - some of the patterns lend themselves to coloring, and this week's challenge at Global Design Project inspired me to get out my Stampin' Blends and color away!

I sometimes find a challenge to CASE the designer harder than other challenges. But I have been following Connie since she was on the Artisan Design Team and her cards are always so detailed and beautiful. So coloring and fussy cutting was just what I needed to do for this challenge. Here's my card:

The flowers are colored and cut out from the True Love DSP, and the background paper is from the same package. I chose Magenta Madness as my pop of color - it's one of my current favorites!

A few other details - the sentiment is from the Lovely You stamp set, also fussy cut. I used the gold thread from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack, and those sparkly little gems are the new Opal Rounds. They have just a glimmer of gold in some light, and they played well with the gold thread.

Here's a full list of supplies:
Stamps: Lovely You
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin' Blends: Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Magenta Madness
Paper: Magenta Madness, Basic White, True Love DSP
Embellishments: Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack, Opal Rounds
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

Happy Stamping!

Shopping with a Discount (& some cute cards too!)

Have you heard about Sale-a-bration yet? It's Stampin' Up!'s biggest sale of the year, and there are several ways you can earn free stuff. If you've been around awhile, you are probably aware of how this works. If not, here's a brief overview:

If you're looking for the best deal, you'll want to purchase the starter kit. It's $99, and you get to pick $125 of product - whatever you want from your wish list! You don't pay shipping on the starter kit ($12.50 value), a free past Paper Pumpkin kit is included ($22 value), and during Sale-a-bration, you'll also get 5 free packs of paper (more on that in a minute - $57.50 value). WOW! You can see a peek at that pretty paper here:

After you purchase the starter kit, you'll be able to start shopping with a discount. I don't know about you, but I like a good deal! The discount starts at 20%. And you can still earn Sale-a-bration rewards and host rewards - without paying full price! Here's an example:

Let's say I want to order a few things on my wish list.
As a customer:
  • Hydrangea Hill Bundle - $52
  • Gorgeous Posies Card Kit - $32
  • Gorgeous Posies stamp set - $19
  • Ice Cream Corner Suite Collection - $56
Subtotal: $159
S & H: $15.90
My tax: $13.64
Total: $188.54

Don't forget: because I'm spending $150, I also receive host benefits of $15 free AND 3 $50 Sale-a-bration items or 1 $50 Sale-a-bration item and 1 $100 Sale-a-bration item.

As a new demonstrator:
  • Hydrangea Hill Bundle - $52
  • Gorgeous Posies Card Kit - $32
  • Gorgeous Posies stamp set - $19
  • Ice Cream Corner Suite Collection - $56
Subtotal: $159
S & H: $15.90
My tax: $13.64
Total: $188.54
Less $31.80 (20% discount on subtotal)
New total: $156.74

But wait! There's more! Even with my discount, I STILL receive host benefits on the $159 subtotal, so I receive the host benefits AND the Sale-a-bration items even as a demonstrator with my 20% off.

Shopping with a discount is awesome, don't you agree?!

Now, if you've made it this far, I do have a few cards to share with you today. These cards both feature paper from the stacks you can get for free when you purchase a starter kit during Sale-a-bration.

I also used the Approaching Perfection stamp set, which you can earn as a Sale-a-bration reward on your first order as a new demonstrator using your discount!

Please let me know if you have questions about purchasing a starter kit. I am happy to answer them, and you can also read more about it here.

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, and my newest class will help you get ready! In this class to go, you'll make two treat packages and five cards, perfect for Valentine's Day and beyond!

There are three options for purchasing this class:
Option #1 ($82): This option includes the Heartfelt Bundle (stamps and two heart punches), a 1/2 package of Snail Mail Designer Series Paper, a roll of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon, a package of Resin Hearts Embellishments, and the cardstock, supplies, and instructions to make the projects. With this option, you will also get to choose a free Sale-a-bration item (if you choose 12 x 12" paper, it will be cut down to fit in your package).
Option #2 ($28): This option includes a 1/2 package of Snail Mail Designer Series Paper, a roll of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon, a package of Resin Hearts Embellishments, and the cardstock, supplies, and instructions to make the projects.
Option #3 ($15): This option includes the tutorial only.
To complete these projects, you will also need the following ink colors: Real Red, Blushing Bride, Bermuda Bay, and Pool Party (inks are $7.50 each). You will also need adhesives - I recommend Stampin' Seal ($8.00) or Stampin' Seal + ($12.00), Stampin' Dimensionals ($4.00), and Mini Glue Dots ($5.25). You may add these on to your kit if you would like.

#GDP275: You Croc My World!

This week, the Global Design Project challenge is a theme challenge, perfect for Valentine's Day!

Oh Snap is one of my favorite stamp sets in the January-June Mini Catalog. I love all of the puns, and that crocodile is just a lot of fun! The image is great for coloring, but for this card I stamped on the Oh So Ombre paper and fussy cut him out. I also stamped on my white cardstock so that his teeth would be white.

The background was created using Pool Party ink and a blending brush. Then I stamped the waves in Pool Party as well. The card is finished off with a few of the Resin Hearts Embellishments.

Here is a full list of products used on this card:
Stamps: Oh Snap
Ink: Memento Black, Pool Party
Paper: Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Basic White, Real Red, Oh So Ombre DSP
Embellishments: Resin Hearts Embellishments
Tools: Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Be Mine Stitched Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Blending Brushes
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Mini Glue Dots

#GDP274: Ombre Valentine's Day Card

In my effort to blog more consistently this year, I am participating in the Global Design Project's challenge again this week. This week it is a sketch challenge.

My card didn't turn out exactly the way I had pictured in my head, but it turned into a pretty and simple Valentine's card, and I hope it inspires you as you're creating for Valentine's Day!

The Oh So Ombre paper that I used as a background is a free choice with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration. It comes in four colors, so you could even change it up to be more masculine if you wanted to recreate this card in a different color scheme.

Here is a full list of supplies:
Stamps: Heartfelt
Ink: Rococo Rose; Stampin' Blends Markers: Rococo Rose
Paper: Rococo Rose, Whisper White, Love You Always Foil Sheets, Oh So Ombre DSP (SAB)
Embellishments: Rhinestones
Tools: Heart Punch Pack
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals

Happy Stamping!

January Card Club Sneak Peek

Hello! I hope you are all having a wonderful week! I've been doing a lot of designing this week, and I have another class to share with you today. This is a peek at the kit for my monthly card club this month:

If you are looking for a way to build up your stash of cards this year, this club is a great option for you! You'll make 8 general occasion cards every month - birthday, thank you, thinking of you, etc. The cost of the club is $35/month. This cost includes $20-22 of product (usually a half pack of paper, a ribbon, and an embellishment), the cost of tax and shipping, plus all of the cardstock cut and ready for you to assemble your cards. Envelopes are also included. I use one stamp set/bundle on all of the cards each month, and you have the option to add the one I use on at the catalog cost (I cover tax and shipping on that as a perk of belonging to the club). You provide your own inks and adhesives. Of course you can also use stamps that you already own to keep your cost down.

Want to sign up? You can do that here.
Make sure to subscribe by January 20 to get this month's kit!

Happy Stamping!

One Sheet Wonder: Paper Blooms & So Sentimental

It's Sale-a-bration time, and that means you can earn freebies for every $50 you spend! One of my favorite freebies this year is the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper. The color combinations in this paper are so pretty together!

I decided to take one of my favorite patterns and do a "one sheet wonder". Have you ever tried this before? I searched on Pinterest for a one sheet wonder template - you can find all sorts of them there. Then I cut my paper.

The idea is to make a bunch of cards from one sheet of Designer Series Paper and it helps you to use it all up. Win win! This particular template has a few leftover pieces, some of which you could use for the insides of your cards to make them match. I ended up with 9 cards, which I thought was pretty good!

I used just a few coordinating products to complete my cards - the So Sentimental Bundle, Elegant Faceted Gems, Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack, and Night of Navy ink, plus a few colors of cardstock. Psst... if you buy the bundle and a few of the coordinating products, you'll earn the paper for free!

Here is a full list of the supplies I used:
Stamps: So Sentimental
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Night of Navy, Petal Pink, Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray, Soft Sea Foam, Paper Blooms DSP
Embellishments: Elegant Faceted Gems, Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack
Tools: Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

If you'd like to place an order and earn this paper for free, you can do that here.

One is general occasion cards, and the other is Christmas cards, all the time! Here are a few details about the Christmas Card club:

#GDP273: Pretty Perennials Birthday Card

Wow! Has it really been since December 1 since I last blogged? I guess so. One of my New Year's resolutions is to be more consistent with my blogging. It often gets pushed to the side as I design for my classes, but creating pretty projects that are sometimes too complicated or use too many products for a class is one of my favorite things to do! One of the challenge sites I really like is Global Design Project, and so my hope is to play along with their challenge every week this year. This week, it's a color challenge:

This is such a pretty combination. I used the brand new Pretty Perennials Bundle for my card.

I used one of my Blending Brushes to add a soft, subtle background with Soft Sea Foam ink. You can see it if you look carefully behind the flowers and leaves. That little sliver of Designer Series Paper on the side comes from the color family 6" x 6" stacks that will be available in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. If you purchase the starter kit during Sale-a-bration (now through February 28), you'll get 5 full packs of the patterned paper in all of our color families. It's a huge value!

Here is a full list of the supplies I used on this card:
Stamps: Pretty Perennials
Ink: Night of Navy, Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, Neutrals 6" x 6" DSP Stack (2021-2022 AC)
Embellishments: Champagne Rhinestones, Well Suited Twine Combo Pack
Tools: Perennial Petals Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

Happy Stamping!
