Big Plans Memories & More Cards

If you're a follower of my Facebook page, you know that I've been highlighting the Big Plans Memories & More Card Pack this week. I did a Facebook Live on Wednesday and made a few quick and easy cards using the card pack and a few additional products. All of these cards require absolutely no stamping!

What do you think? If you ask me, this is a whole lot better than spending $7 on one card at the store! And the cards are cuuuuute! All of our Memories & More card packs are great for making quick and easy cards. You can of course add stamping if you'd like, but you don't have to. The supplies I used are listed below. Comment and let me know which card is your favorite!

Supply List:
*Big Plans Memories & More Card Pack
*Whisper White Cards & Envelopes (small and large)
*Calypso Coral 1/8" Sheer Ribbon
*Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Back to School Teacher Treats

Today I'm sharing the treat I made for the teachers at my daughter's school to celebrate the beginning of the school year. School has started, but it's never too late to give a teacher a little thank you gift! (And if I'm being real, these did not get delivered the first day of school. Or even the first week. Having a baby in the house is severely side-tracking my timeline for getting things done!)

To make the boxes, I followed a tutorial from Erica Cerwin for making a box of any size. The tutorial begins about 26 minutes into the video. Want to see what's inside?

I also got this idea from Erica Cerwin. She makes the cutest 3D projects, and always has the best treats! If you are looking for an everyday treat that's not back to school specific, the regular Little Debbie cakes are the same size and will fit perfectly in this box.

Here are the measurements for my box:
The base is 7 1/2 inches by 4 3/4 inches. On the long side, score at 1 1/4 inches and 6 1/4 inches. On the short side, score at 1 1/4 inches and 3 1/2 inches.
The top is 6 1/2 inches by 3 3/4 inches. On the long side, score at 3/4 inches and 5 3/4 inches. On the short side, score at 3/4 inches and 3 inches. For directions on assembly, see the link above for Erica Cerwin's tutorial.

A few tips for putting the box together - definitely use a strong adhesive! I used some of my retired Fast Fuse Adhesive, but the lids still kept popping apart. I finally reinforced them with Scotch tape on the inside. Tear and Tape Adhesive would be another option. Which brings me to my next tip - Erica always makes the lids of her boxes just slightly bigger than the bottom of the box, and then it's not such a tight fit. I forgot to do that on mine, and I think that contributed to the adhesive not sticking as well.

I thought the sentiment from Treehouse Adventure was perfect for the start of school - Let the Adventure Begin! I used retired ribbon on these, but the 3/8" Mini Ruffled Ribbon would be perfect here too.

Stamps: Treehouse Adventure
Ink: Call Me Clover
Paper: Crumb Cake, Call Me Clover, Whisper White, Animal Expedition DSP
Accessories & Tools: Starburst Punch, Layering Circles Framelits, Big Shot, 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon (retired)

Scrapbooking Global Challenge: Beach Memories

Hello and welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop July 2018! If you are visiting my blog for the first time, thank you for stopping in. Make sure to visit the rest of the talented artists on this hop - the links are listed at the end of this post.

It has been a long while since I've shared a scrapbook page here. Many of you probably don't know this, but long before I was a card maker, I made scrapbooks. I did not have all of the wonderful Stampin' Up! products I have now, and I'm a little embarrassed to look back on some of those pages! But they were created with love, and I think that is the whole point of scrapbooking, to preserve the memories of those we love for years to come.

When I saw the sketch for this month's challenge, I was immediately inspired to use photos from our trip to San Diego last year. Here's the sketch...

And here's what I did with it...

The Tranquil Textures suite paired beautifully with my beach photos! I stuck with the color scheme of the Designer Series Paper for the most part - Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Fresh Fig, and a little bit of Soft Sea Foam, Tranquil Tide, and Sahara Sand. I masked off "Have a" from the "wonderful adventure" sentiment, and added in the "amazing" die cut from the Celebrate You Thinlits. The month and year are stamped using the Make a Difference stamp set, which is great for scrapbooking! You can create your own phrases, dates, and more, plus the set includes two different fonts. It is one of my favorites!

Here is a complete list of the supplies I used:
Stamps: Sea of Textures, Make a Difference
Ink: Night of Navy, Sahara Sand, Fresh Fig
Paper: Tranquil Textures DSP, Fresh Fig, Night of Navy, Sahara Sand, Soft Sea Foam, Tranquil Tide, Whisper White
Accessories & Tools: Layering Squares Framelits, Under the Sea Framelits, Celebrate You Thinlits, Big Shot, Classic Label Punch, Night of Navy Medium Baker's Twine

I can't wait to see what everyone else has done with this sketch! Visit Jackie Lawless from the UK next by clicking the button below.

New Catalog & New Colors!

Happy new catalog day! I always love our mini catalogs, but when the big catalog goes live, it is even more exciting! Today I'm going to share my top ten with you, as well as a card using the brand new In Colors. If you received a catalog from me, don't forget that you can use your June coupon beginning today. Please use host code 4HQZP2MB when placing your order if you are spending less than $150. If you need a catalog and do not currently have a demonstrator, I would be happy to send you one, along with coupons to use June through December.

Onto my top ten! And then make sure to read to the end to see a card using the fun new In Colors.

1) My favorite thing about this catalog - all of the new (and returning!) colors! Stampin' Up! did a color revamp this year, and there are 16 new colors in the line up. The best way to get a taste of all of them is to order cardstock in the color family packs, or try out one of the new color assortment packs (inks, markers, or cardstock) found on p. 182 of the catalog.

2) Next on my list is the Love You to Pieces Bundle. This set is perfect for autism awareness, but great for so many other things too! It was on my order this afternoon.

3) It's so hard to choose from all of the beautiful ribbon, but I am really loving the 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon. It comes in three colors - Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape, and Poppy Parade - some of my favorites!

4) Anyone else thinking about Christmas? I've been making 15 Christmas cards every month this year, and I'm planning to do a Christmas Card Club beginning in August. The Stylish Christmas stamp set is what I plan to use for the first month of the club. It includes some of our new Distinktive stamps, which have a really cool texture!

5) There are a couple of new animal punch builders in this catalog. My favorite is the Little Elephant Bundle. I can't wait to use this set for new baby thank yous, and birth announcements if I'm ambitious!

6) I haven't been keeping up with my scrapbooking as I would like to, but I do love the Big Plans Memories & More Card Pack! I am hoping to do a card class with it later this year. The best part is that we now have note cards and envelopes that fit these card packs perfectly, making for super simple cards!

7) The Under the Mistletoe DSP is full of classic Christmas colors, which I love! You'll be seeing it in some of my Christmas cards, and maybe in that Stylish Christmas class.

8) The Notes of Kindness Card Kit has such pretty floral images, and in some of my favorite colors - Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron, and Soft Sea Foam! I love our all-inclusive kits because you don't need any extra supplies besides adhesive and scissors to put them together.

9) Nature's Twine is a set of 4 colors of twine. I use twine all the time on my cards, and these are such pretty colors. The rest of the suite is great too, and I think it is going to be awesome for fall!

10) Last, but not least, the Calligraphy Essentials Project Kit looks like so much fun! This one does have a separate stamp set and a few additional supplies needed, which would make it perfect for a private card class with your friends. Contact me if you are local and interested in hosting!

Bonus: There are SO many new colors available in the Stampin' Blends. These are my favorite coloring tool, and I can't wait to add the new colors to my collection. Unfortunately, they won't be available for a few more weeks, BUT the returning colors are available for ordering now!

Now, what you've been waiting for - today's card! I used the new In Colors and one of my favorite stamp sets with the coordinating framelits. What do you think?

These new colors are so vibrant and fun!
