#TGIFC434: Give Thanks

There is a theme challenge at TGIF Challenges this week. Isn't this some pretty inspiration?

I pulled out some colors I saw in this graphic - Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, and Lost Lagoon - and paired them with the Courage & Faith stamp set. I also used the Nested Essentials Dies, along with the sentiment to fit the 'thanks' theme.

 

The Nested Essentials Dies coordinate so well with this stamp set! Several of the sentiments fit in this shape, and it's perfect if you're wanting a vertical sentiment.

The flowers are from the Just My Type stamp set, and are stamped directly onto the DSP. The sentiment is from the Kindest Expressions stamp set. I've decided these two work really well together!

#TGIFC432: Alcohol Ink Blending with Irresistible Blooms

The color challenge at TGIF Challenges this week is amazing - I love these colors!

 

I decided to try a new-to-me technique for my card: alcohol ink blending. I watched a video by Patty Bennett to learn the ins and outs of how to do this, and it took me a few tries. Definitely use 91% alcohol or higher, or you will not get the results you're looking for! In the end, I was pretty happy with how my card turned out.

 

I paired my background with the Irresistible Blooms Bundle. Isn't that die cut swirl fun?

#GDP406: I Like You

There is a sketch challenge at the Global Design Project this week, and I love it because it's so simple!

 

I used the Irresistible Blooms Suite, an online exclusive suite of products from Stampin' Up! 

 

I let the paper do most of the work on this card. It's so pretty, isn't it? I love the pinks and yellows - it reminds me of a sunset.

Creation Station: Ombre Blending

 

I'm excited to be hopping along with the Creation Station Design Team again this month! Our theme this time is Ombre Blending.

 

I've used a combination of Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, and Petal Pink to create my ombre background. Blending brushes are your best friend for this type of background! 

 

The flowers are heat embossed in white on Watercolor Paper, and then colored with Melon Mambo ink and a Water Painter.
