Make Great Memories this December!

Has 2020 been a difficult year for you? That's a silly question, right? While 2020 has not exactly been the year any of us imagined, I'm hoping to end it on a good note. December brings lots of traditions and Christmas fun, and I want to make this month a good one for my family. To document those memories, I've created a December Photo Album, and I want to offer it as a class for you so that you can preserve your memories this month too!

To create the album, we'll use the Wonder of the Season Memories & More Card Pack, which includes some beautiful cards that are perfect for making Christmas cards as well! If you'd like, I have an optional add-on class that will allow you to make 10 Christmas cards (or more!) as well.

Or perhaps you're not that crafty, but you like this idea and want a finished album that you can add your photos too. I'm here for you too! Check out the options for this class:
Option #1 ($55): This option includes a Black 6 x 8" Photo Album, 2 packages of Photo Pocket Pages, the Wonder of the Season Memories & More Card Pack, and a package of Wonderful Gems. I'll also include a few cardstock pieces that you'll need, as well as instructions for putting your album together.
Option #2 ($65): Want the album, but you'd rather have it put together for you? This option is for you! I'll make your album for you and send it to you ready to fill with photos and memories.
Option #3 ($79): This option includes everything in Option #1, PLUS the Wonder of the Season Memories & More Cards & Envelopes and the Wonder of the Season Ribbon Combo Pack. In addition to creating a photo album, you'll also make 10 Christmas cards.
Option #4 ($15): This option includes the tutorial only (for both the album and the cards).

You will not need any stamps or inks to complete the album or cards. You will need adhesives. I recommend Stampin' Seal or Stampin' Seal +, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, and Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots if you are making the cards.
The deadline to sign up for this class is December 10. I will ship your class kit to you no later than December 20. If you pay your invoice promptly, I will add your items to my next order and you will get your kit sooner.

I did a short video showing the album in more detail, and it will hopefully give you a better idea of what you'll get when you order this class. I don't have a dedicated spot to do my videos right now, and little time to film or edit them (thanks, 2020), so this video is not quite as polished as I'd like, but I think it will help explain this idea.

And finally, if you're looking for ideas of activities to do with your family this month, here is a great list to get you going! I'm pretty sure in our family, the activities will involve a lot of baking!

You can sign up for this class here. Let's make this a December to remember, in a good way!

Happy Stamping!

Stitched Leaves Plaid Card

Wow, it's been a month since I last shared a card with you! Let me explain... as you might have gathered from my blog name, I do a lot of my stamping while my kids are napping/having quiet time. My 2-year-old decided a few weeks ago that she was done with naps, but she definitely doesn't have the attention span to sit and watch a movie like her older siblings. So... I am figuring out how to still get my work done and not neglect my mom duties. It's a work in progress.

The card I have to share with you today is one that I started working on a few weeks ago. See the correlation? Haha! I used the Plaid Tidings paper as my starting point, and drew my color combination from there. Take a look:

Cherry Cobbler, Melon Mambo, and Seaside Spray are not colors I would have put together on my own, but this pattern was one of my favorites in this paper stack, and I ended up loving this combination!

The Seaside Spray ribbon threads are from the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon. All I did was pull the threads out of the ribbon for a more delicate look.

Here is a full list of supplies I used on this card:
Stamps: Love of Leaves
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Melon Mambo, Seaside Spray, Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper
Embellishments: Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon, Woven Threads Sequins
Tools: Stitched Leaves Dies, Meadow Moments Embossing Folders, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Multipurpose Glue

Happy Stamping!

A Cup of Thanks

Today's card features the Press On stamp set. I am not a coffee drinker, but this set was so cute I just had to have it! I was inspired by the Starbucks red holiday cups. What do you think?

To get the red cup look, you'll have to do a little bit of paper piecing. Stamp the cup image once on Real Red cardstock, and once on Whisper White cardstock. Fussy cut the sections that are white and glue them onto the red cup. You'll want to make sure you're cutting on the black lines with all of your fussy cutting. Our Paper Snips work great for this! If you haven't tried them, I highly recommend them. I won't use regular scissors for cutting out small images anymore - these just work so much better!

That pop of Coastal Cabana creates a fun color combination. We had a Designer Series Paper a few years back with these colors, and I just loved it!

Here is a full list of supplies:
Stamps: Press On
Ink: Memento Black, Real Red, Crumb Cake
Paper: Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Real Red
Embellishments: Real Red Braided Linen Trim
Tools: Tasteful Labels Dies, Paper Snips
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

If you'd like to purchase the supplies to make this card, you can do so in my online store. Click here for a 1-click ordering option that will bring up the entire list of supplies for you!

#GDP261: Fall Friendship Card

Today's card was inspired by the color challenge at Global Design Project this week.

I used the Love of Leaves Bundle and a few supporting products to create my card. This bundle caught my eye right away because of the stitching. Stitched dies are my favorite!

All of the details on this card really make it special:
  • A watercolor wash in Mint Macaron ink, with a few speckles of Cajun Craze
  • A sprinkling of the Artistry Blooms Sequins
  • A leaf from the In Good Taste Elements
  • A piece of Embroidered Ribbon
I just love how all of Stampin' Up!'s products coordinate so well together!

Here is a full list of supplies:
Stamps: Love of Leaves
Ink: Cajun Craze, Mint Macaron
Paper: Mint Macaron, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Shimmery White
Embellishments: Artistry Blooms Sequins, In Good Taste Elements, 3/8" Embroidered Ribbon
Tools: Stitched Leaves Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Tasteful Labels Dies, Water Painters

#GDP258: Here for You

Did you read last week's post about the Get & Go promotion? You can get two free stamp sets added on to your starter kit this month! One of those stamp sets is called So Much Love, and I used it for today's card. I was inspired by the sketch at Global Design Project this week, although I didn't follow it exactly. I still love how the card turned out!

It might be hard to see in the photos, but I added Wink of Stella to the flowers, and it makes the card that much prettier! The large flowers in this stamp set can be stamped tone on tone for a nice background, or you can use a variety of mediums to color them. I chose to use Stampin' Blends this time, and Seaside Spray was an obvious choice because it's one of my favorite colors.

The card is finished off with some of the Seaside Spray sequins from the Woven Threads Sequins. Here is everything I used:

Stamps: So Much Love
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin' Blends: Seaside Spray, Old Olive
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Seaside Spray, In Good Taste DSP
Embellishments: Woven Threads Sequins
Tools: Wink of Stella, Stitched So Sweetly Dies
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Multipurpose Glue

Get & Go Promotion

Stampin' Up! has a fun starter kit promotion this month, and I wanted to share more about it with you today. There are a lot of reasons people join Stampin' Up!:
  • To buy their craft supplies at a discount
  • To make more crafty friends
  • To teach and share their love of stamping
  • To get new products before everyone else
  • To go to Stampin' Up! events
  • To build their own business
  • To make enough money to support their paper-crafting hobby
Maybe some of these reasons appeal to you. When I joined Stampin' Up! almost 8 years ago, I joined because I loved the products and I wanted to start a business. At the time, I had no dreams of the bigger business and earning incentives I do now. I just wanted to have fun, and I enjoyed stamping and wanted to share it with others. Many people who purchase the starter kit do so solely for the discount. And really, even without the Get & Go promotion this month, the starter kit is the best deal there is! But here's what you get this month when you buy the starter kit:
  • $125 of your choice in product for $99. That's $26 for free!
  • Free shipping on the starter kit - this is a $12.50 value.
  • Free Paper Pumpkin code (they usually send a free past kit, but due to the expected large number of starter kits purchased this month, you will get a code for a free kit later on) - this is a $22 value.
  • Queen Anne's Lace stamp set - this is a $17 value.
  • So Much Love stamp set - this is a $20 value.
  • Cardstock cut and ready to make 16 cards with those stamp sets - this is hard to put a value on, but is probably at least a $5-7 value.

After you purchase the starter kit, you'll receive a 20% discount on all of your purchases, and this can increase! You'll be invited to exclusive demonstrator groups and events, and as a part of my team, you'll receive all of the tutorials I do every month for free. Being a part of our group is a lot of fun - everyone is so kind and supportive, and we can share our love of Stampin' Up! with each other. Here is a little video my team leader put together about our team:

If you would like to chat about the starter kit, I would love to tell you more and answer any questions you have. You can read more about it and purchase a starter kit on my website as well.

Next week, I'll have a few projects using these free stamp sets to share with you! I'll leave you with the sample cards that you'll get supplies for in your kit. Aren't they pretty?

Happy Stamping!

#GDP257: Hello Friend

Today's card is inspired by the color challenge at Global Design Project this week:

I created a simple card using the Queen Anne's Lace stamp set and a little bit of emboss resist.

To create that soft watercolor image, first stamp in Versamark and heat with white embossing powder. Once set, watercolor with Balmy Blue ink. I think the Balmy Blue is a nice contrast to the Misty Moonlight, don't you?

I colored my Rhinestones with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blends to add a pop of one more color. So simple, yet elegant.

This stamp set is one you can get for free when you buy a starter kit this month. Stay tuned for more information on that tomorrow!

Stamps: Queen Anne's Lace
Ink: Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight, Stampin' Blends: Dark Highland Heather
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Misty Moonlight, Whisper White, Watercolor Paper, 2020-2022 In Color DSP
Embellishments: Rhinestones
Tools: Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Water Painters
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals

Beautiful Autumn Card & Card Club Sneak Peek

Hello! Did you have a good Labor Day weekend? My kids had both Friday and Monday off of school, and we worked on building furniture (new beds for the boys) and moving things around so that eventually my 2-year-old can move into the toddler bed and out of her crib. We're procrastinating on that step and if you've ever had a toddler you know how fun (or not!) it is to keep them in a bed they can climb right out of!

I have a new card to share with you today. I wasn't able to get much crafting done over the weekend, but this card was brewing in my mind and so it went together quickly this afternoon.

I used the Beautiful Autumn Bundle, the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP, and a few embellishments from the Annual Catalog. I fussy cut some of the gold and copper leaves from the paper - isn't it pretty?

If you like this card, you may also like my monthly card club kit this month. I am featuring the same bundle and paper, and you'll create a set of pretty notecards.

If you're interested in the club, you can find out more and sign up here.

Here's a list of supplies for today's card:
Stamps: Beautiful Autumn
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP
Embellishments: Gilded Gems, Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack, In Good Taste Elements
Tools: Tasteful Labels Dies
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

Have a Hoot on Christmas

Have you seen the recent trend of slimline cards? A few weeks ago, I was involved in a demonstrator event, and I created some display samples using the Have a Hoot Bundle. For one of the cards, I decided to try my hand at a slimline card, and here are the results:

One of the best parts is the inside of the card:

I masked the word 'Halloween' on the sentiment and then masked 'Merry' and stamped 'Christmas' in place of 'Halloween'. This gives you even more options for this stamp set!

I also did a little bit of masking on the front of the card. I masked either half of the stamp with four little owls so that I could fit two each on the small tags. I also masked the spider on the second owl to remove the Halloween element. The owls are colored just a bit with the Ivory Stampin' Blends Marker.

I used quite a few different products on this card. Here is a full list:

Stamps: Have a Hoot
Ink: Memento Black, Highland Heather, Stampin' Blends: Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, Soft Suede, Shaded Spruce, Melon Mambo, Ivory
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Snowflake Splendor DSP
Embellishments: Rhinestones, Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems, Snowflake Splendor Ribbon
Tools: Peek-a-Hoot Dies
Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

If you'd like to try your hand at a slimline card, mine measured 8 1/2" x 7", and then fold in half so your finished card is 8 1/2" x 3 1/2". This will fit in a business-size envelope. Comment and let me know if you've ever made a slimline card before!

Happy Stamping!
