A Busy Time

You may have noticed that there have been less posts around here during the last few months. Life at my house has been a little chaotic, to say the least. Much of my time has been spent getting ready for our third baby, who is due on Christmas Day. My first two arrived during week 38, and tomorrow starts week 34, so I am planning for only a few more weeks to get ready for this little boy's arrival! This time around I have just been more tired, and I suppose that is due to the 2-year-old and 3-year-old I chase around all day and the body that's not getting any younger. I never got the urge to "nest" much with the other two, but this time it feels like there is an enormous amount of things to clean and organize before the baby gets here. (Maybe that is just the knowledge and experience of what it's like to add a newborn to the family...)

The other challenging part of life the last few months has been unexpected houseguests. My in-laws moved in with us in August after it was discovered that environmental issues in their house were causing some pretty serious health problems. The health problems are thankfully much improved, but the remediation of their house is a very slow process. We decided to finish our basement in order to give them their own space to live in, and my husband and his father have been doing all of the work.

How does all of this relate to stamping? Well, I have felt that the most important thing for me to do is to take care of my family, and that often hasn't left as much time for stamping. It doesn't help that most of my stamping and crafting supplies are stored in the basement, and have been displaced all over for the last few months. I even put together a box of things I wanted to work on, that could be set aside, but it has gone missing for the past month.

I have so many ideas and things to share with you, but at this point in time, I just don't have the energy, time, or resources to do so. This isn't to say that I'm going to stop blogging completely. In fact, in the new year (January, February, March??? We'll see how it goes...), I hope to post more frequently and regularly. Until then, though, I'm not going to make any promises. My plan is to continue posting the Weekly Deals, and then other projects as I have the time. I am really appreciating Paper Pumpkin these days, because I don't have to go searching for any extra supplies! I do have October's kit finished to share with you. One of these days I'll get pictures taken and work on the blog post. Maybe before November is over...

September 2015 Paper Pumpkin: Wickedly Sweet Treat

I've been a little behind in putting together my Paper Pumpkin kits the last few months, but today I have September's kit to share with you. When I received this kit, I knew that it was one I would be making to give away, and it was perfect for Halloween treats! I decided to order a refill kit as well, so that I had 16 total to hand out on Halloween. We don't get a ton of trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood, plus we are gone part of the time taking our own kids out, so that number was about right. Inside, I placed one of my business cards, a flyer invitation for my November Stamp Camp, and of course some candy!

If you've watched the video for this kit, it makes it seem easy to put together. I had some trouble gathering the bags together and getting them tied, although maybe that was because of the flyer I had folded in there. This was one time when I definitely did not feel like a star crafter! Oh well. Handmade gifts are about giving something from the heart, not making something that looks completely perfect, right?

I loved the stamp set that came with this kit, and I'm sure it will be one that is used again, with all of the fall-themed stamps. (I forgot to take a picture this time. Oops!)

Next on the list is to put together October's kit, which was a beautiful card kit! If you haven't watched the video yet, take a look:

November's kit will be shipping soon. Last year, November's kit made gorgeous snowflake Christmas cards. I'm hoping for another Christmas-themed kit this year! Make sure to sign up by November 10 so that you don't miss out!
