Banner Blast Birthday

One of my nephews has a birthday coming up next week, and he's turning 10! I have been wanting to use the new Banner Blast stamp set from the SAB catalog, and a birthday card seemed like the perfect place for banners. I chose my color scheme based on one of my nephew's favorite teams, the Green Bay Packers.

A few tips:
  • I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop the numbers up in the middle. Because the numbers are so narrow, I cut each dimensional in half and stacked them so they were twice as high.
  • I didn't have any Garden Green paper in my stash, so I cut the numbers out in Whisper White and colored them with my Garden Green marker.
  • I also do not have the Garden Green ink pad yet, so I used the marker to color the stamps. This is a great trick that works really well when you don't have all the colors!
Stamps: Banner Blast, Sassy Salutations
Ink: Garden Green, Crushed Curry
Paper: Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Crushed Curry
Accessories & Tools: Alphabet Bigz Dies, Big Shot, Banner Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

A Simple Thank You

This is a card I did for a Stamp Camp back in October or November. It's very simple, but that's what I love about it! It also uses one of my favorite stamp sets, Another Thank You. This is one of Stampin' Up!'s photopolymer stamp sets. They are completely clear, and super sticky, so they stick to the clear blocks really well. It's also very easy to see exactly where you are stamping. If you're in need of a thank you card and you don't want to use a lot of supplies or spend a lot of time, this is the card for you!

Stamps: Another Thank You
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Paper: Coastal Cabana
Accessories: Rhinestones

Scalloped Tag Topper Punch

Today's project features a new product from the Occasions Catalog, the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I have seen so many fun ideas using this and the Angled Tag Topper Punch, but my favorite is to make a cute little treat holder. The one I made holds a Ghiradelli chocolate, but you could cut your paper to fit other candy as well.

Both Tag Topper Punches are 2" wide, but you can cut your paper to any length. The possibilities are endless! And this project could easily be adapted to fit with other stamps and colors. I took my inspiration from the Retro Fresh Suite in the Occasions Catalog. Below I have shared the supplies I used to create my treat holder:

Stamps: Petal Parade, Oh Goodie!
Ink: So Saffron, Coastal Cabana
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Retro Fresh Washi Tape, Stampin' Dimensionals, Tangerine Tango ribbon (retired)

A note on the ribbon ~ it is from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack that was part of last year's Sale-a-bration. It is currently for sale in my online store on the Clearance Rack, while supplies last.

This project is one I will be demonstrating at my Stamp Camp this Saturday. If you are planning to come, you will get to make one, complete with a Ghiradelli candy! For more details on the Stamp Camp, please visit my business website.

Good as Gold

Today's project comes from a kit in the Sale-a-bration catalog. If you are new to the world of Stampin' Up!, Sale-a-bration (SAB) is an annual sale that involves FREE products!!! For every $50 you spend, you get to choose something FREE from an exclusive catalog. This year's sale runs from January 28 thru March 31, and I like just about everything in the SAB catalog. (Maybe that's why I've managed to earn so much of it for free...) The card I'm showcasing today is from the Good as Gold kit. In the kit, you get the supplies needed to make 8 cards. I needed some quick thank you cards, and kits are perfect for quick cards since you don't have to come up with the ideas on your own. In fact, Stampin' Up! has come out with quite a few kits recently. For what you pay they are a great value, especially when you consider the price of a greeting card in the store. So, without further ado, here is the thank you card from the Good as Gold kit.

Things I love:
  • The polka dots! But then, I love polka dots anywhere.
  • The little touches of gold. Gold is popular right now, and while I don't like gold jewelry, I am loving gold on cards like this one!
  • The coordinating envelope, complete with gold liner! I love that the kits come with their own envelopes. Even better, some of them come with liners, which just adds a little something special.
If you love this card as much as I do, spend $50 in my online store and earn the Good as Gold kit for FREE! An easy way to get to that $50? Buy the Everyday Occasions kit, along with the new Hip Hip Hooray kit and some SNAIL adhesive. With the Good as Gold kit, you'll have all the supplies to make 48 cards, all for just over $50! Waaaay cheaper than buying cards in the store, and they're handmade!

Meet the Blogger

Hi, and welcome to my little part of blogland! My name is Rachel, and I am here to share my creative side with you. I have been an independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator for just over a year, and while I mostly do it as a hobby (and for the discount!), I hope to someday make it into more of a business. When that someday is, I don't know. I have two children under the age of two, so life revolves around them at the moment ~ which is perfectly fine ~ that's how it should be! On that note, I don't plan on having a schedule for blog posts. I hope to post regularly, but life is going to get in the way. This blog is another outlet for my creativity and a place to share my Stampin' Up! business with others, but it is not my top priority in life. Here's what you can expect to see when you visit:
  • Stamped cards, scrapbook pages, and projects that I have created using Stampin' Up! products
  • News and updates about Stampin' Up! (i.e. weekly deals, new products, fun promotions)
  • Information about the classes I host and...
  • Hopefully some inspiration for your own cards and projects!
Thanks for visiting! And if you happen to stumble across my little blog before I've finished putting it together, I hope you'll come back to visit again when it's looking a little nicer!

Happy Stamping!
